http://media.bonnint.net/slc/161/16135/1613558.jpg and from the story, it doesn't sound as though he believed his life was in jeopardy.
Just the attitude of a liberal - WE, the little people, shouldn't have the right to defend ourselves, but when the shoe's on HIS foot - kaBlam

The law goes into effect Sept. 1. So does that mean that he faces the possibility of being charged under the old law (that he would have applied to everyone else if he had had his way), rather than gaining the benefit of the new law?

A state lawmaker who opposed a bill giving Texans stronger right to defend themselves with deadly force pulled a gun and shot a man he says was trying to steal copper wiring from a construction site, police said Monday. Since this was a construction site, does this truly qualify under the "castle doctrine?"

Ex-cop against common folks defending themselves. Nothing new there, even if you take off the ex part.

Hey gunowners.....here’s a heads-up on a new OSHA proposed rule making regarding the re-defining of the meaning of “explosives” to include small arms ammo. Imagine a Wal Mart store that sells guns and ammo, and along comes a thunderstorm in the vacinity, they’d have to evacuate the store under the new rule!!
Look it up on the NRS home page. Just today OSHA extended the comment period from July 12 th to Sept. 10th, so there’s plenty of time to mount an effort to beat it down.
The proposed rule is Docket No. OSHA-2007-0032

He should have waited until September 1 to shoot the thief, but that’s just my opinion.

stupid criminal. brought a pocket knife to a gunfight....
Note to self: If I ever shoot someone, the first thing I will do is not call the cops, but change my party affiliation to Democrat. Then I am guaranteed not to be charged...
