Ultraconservatives have long, curly sideburns.
As opposed to Carb credits?
To the MSM, anyone more moderate than Trotsky is an ultra-conservative.
Hunter’s sort of populist when it comes to the economy. In ways I think Thompson and Hunter compliment each other. I would like that ticket as well.
I’m a big fan of Fred.
But, you don’t get to play this game forever. EIther he’s in or he’s out. If he’s not hammering away at the next Republican Debate, he’s toast.
After a while of teasing, many people, including myself, begin to see this to be as silly as Ross Perot pulling out at the last minute due to “threats” but then jumping right back in.
The run for the white house is not something you should be iffy about, or that iffyness wil be used against you in a court of public opinion.
Get in Fred. Times a wastin. No one is going to guarantee you a victory, ya gotta work for it.
Traditionally, this is still VERY early to be announcing for President.
Fred’s got PLENTY of time. Even July would not be too late.
Most often the money angle is mentioned; that Fred will be too late to latch onto the required cash. Now, no one ought to worry on that account. Within two weeks of announcing, Fred will have more money in his campaign than any other candidate. The outpouring of cash that is certain to come will become the stuff of political legend.
He is? Since when? He’s supported far too many liberal positions the current Administration has taken. Don’t you remember the “not going to carry water anymore” speech?
“Much as I admire him, I want someone more electable than Thompson.”
Of the current Republican field, there are NO candidates that are more electable than Senator Thompson.
Regardless of who the candidate(R) is, they will be demonfied by the press - even a liberal(R) like Rudolph the Baby kiling rump ranger.
The more I read about Fred, the more I really like him. Fred’s got charisma, common sense, honesty, and the respect of all conservatives across the Republican spectrum.
The one thing that hurts Fred though is another admirable trait—loyalty. I really think if it weren’t for McCain, Fred would already be in this race. I think before July, these two are going to have a long talk, where Fred needs to tell McCain “look, you can’t win”. I doubt McCain’s ego will ever be able to come to terms with that, but if some miraculous event happens and he decides to get behind Fred, I think he can save some ounce of credibility he still has left. And maybe Fred will put him in as Defense Secretary where the GWOT is the only area McCain seems to be strong in anyway. Ahmajabbenjabber in Iran probably wouldn’t like that.
For VP, Fred should pick a southern Gov, like Riley or Huckabee.
