Speaking today in Tampa, former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson said he has no interest in running on a Republican ticket as Vice President.

My lack of desire coincides with Fred's.

PING!!

Here is a little more from a similar article: If Thompson does decide to run, he may delay his announcement until mid-summer after the end of the current TV season. That's because NBC says if he becomes a candidate, they won't air any episode he's in. On May 27, he will be seen playing the role of President Ulysses S. Grant in an upcoming HBO movie, "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee." The FCC's broadcasting fairness doctrine and equal-time rule regulate how broadcasters treat political candidates. The equal-time provision takes effect at the time a publicly announced candidate engages in a "substantial showing" of candidacy, such as raising money and giving speeches, according to the FCC.

I am not a conservative and hope Fred decides to run as I have unlike most people read up on his voting record and read all of his position papers. He represents what this counrty should be- he presents commom sense which is not common anymore. I have not supported anyone for a long time but would actively support FT. The rest speak White Noise. VP should be Newt. If one looks closely at the low voting turn out and the reasons why it becomes clear the public know nonsense when they see it. FT is not about nonsense but about trying to be what is great about America.

What’s an arch-conservative? By the way, my guy has better hair than Thompson . . . oh, Thompson doesn’t have much hair, I forgot.

We need to be reminded that America is great. So many people let the polls or the president’s approval ratings sour their outlook on the war and other stressing issues. America is much greater than the man in office. But, the right man in office can help us reach greater heights.

I’m not certain, yet.

But, I do support Thompson at the top of the ticket.

A snarky one.

I would guess quite a few politicians who stated they had "no interest" in being vice president, went on to be.... well.....vice presidential candidates.

I predict Mr. Thompson will run as Rudy's VP candidate. You read this here on Free Republic first.

WHY would he do that? He wants to accomplish things that only the president can. He will be too old to ever run for president in the future. Giuliani stands against most of Thompson’s beliefs.

If he doesn’t get the nomination for president, he will go back to his private life and enjoy his babies.

“Rudy’s VP candidate”, haha you wish! Let’s see, I predict that once Fred announces he’s running that Rudy and the other two stooges (Romney and McCain) all soil their pants. Because it will be game over. Sorry, liberals like Rudy and Romney don’t play in the South, especially when they try to run as Republicans.
