Heads Must Roll At Virginia Tech ...(assumed domestic violence ???)
Peace and Freedom ^ | April 17, 2007 | John E. Carey

Posted on 04/17/2007 5:21:32 AM PDT by IrishMike

The entire nation will now collectively mourn one of the great tragedies one can endure: the death of so many of our children.

But a detailed analysis of the facts will also be ongoing. There are many questions from all observers.

It just seems to me, when law enforcement finds two dead bodies on a sleepy university campus in the 7 A.M. hour: they immediately should slam the “Red Alert” button. Yesterday there were some lame remarks about getting out an email (two hours late) and that there wasn’t time to get the word to both lock down the campus and stop the influx of tens of thousands of commuters.

They don’t have radio and TV in Blacksburg, Virginia? If at 7 A.M. a tornado was announced heading for that campus, what would have happen? How about a snowstorm? We had high winds in Washington D.C. this week and the schools were closed three hours early. It was on every radio and TV station in seconds. With that huge force of law enforcement, a good police commander could have closed every road into that campus in no time.

They got radios, cars and flashing lights, don’t they?

Did anyone notice that a bunch of those law enforcement offers were, ahem, chubby?

Law enforcement at Virginia Tech didn’t save one life. They didn’t waste one bullet doing it either. Somebody should be ashamed: law enforcement didn’t fire a shot. The only shooter on that campus got tired after all the mayhem he made.

If my kids name was killed in the classroom after 9 A.M. I am one angry parent.

When is the last time law enforcement found two dead students, murdered students, on that campus during the 7 A.M. hour?

Since Liberals always blame..toss it back at them

It is wrong when they do it. We should not base our behavior on theirs.

I asked the question:

Does VT have a dog?

Does Blacksburg?

Whose dog was shown on TV? It looked like state police.

Where is he based?

It is fine to say a dog should have been there in the first 15 minutes. But if the dog is based one hour away and maybe on another case miles in the opposite direction, ????

There is a lot of could be, maybe, should be here and almost no facts.

Have the facts before you make the suggestion.

And by the way, when the dog arrived, what did he find?

Dogs are great, but they do not work every single time.

It's wrong?

How strange.

Seems to me we can't get around to resolving the root causes without tossing some "blame cards" in the air first.

It is being eported this morning that the room mate of the first girl killed reported to the cops that the victim’s ex-boyfriend was a gun collector, that had been practicing at the firing range, that he was in the area, etc....

She had them convinced that he was the guy and they were looking for him during that two hour period.

Makes all of the 20/20 experts look smart, doesn’t it?

It is amazing to me how hard it is for people to keep quiet on subjects about which they know nothing.

Like airplane crashes. People come out of the woodwork to tell everyone what happened and the closest they have ever been to a plane was when one flew over their house.

Was not my suggestion.

An earlier post mentioned ‘if a dog was available - the shooter had walked 10 minutes to his dorm room’.
If a dog was available to track the shooter, that’s approximately how long it (the dog) would have taken to follow the tracks / trail of the shooter.

If they’d taken a dog out, they could have tracked this guy back to his dorm well before the next shootings began.

The above is a direct quote from your post #280.

That sentence makes it very clear that in your highly expert opinion all they had to do was put the dog on the trail and all 30 lives would have been saved.

The inference is that the dog was available and that they di d not use it in a timely manner.

Never do you ask the question: Was a dog available and how quickly could it be on the scene.

No facts. Just spout off at the mouth hot air.

It's wrong?

Yes.

As you accurately noted, liberals always blame conservatives. That is wrong.

I think you are jumping to a conclusion about what the girl said and what the police interpreted it to mean.

Did she say the boyfriend had been in the room? How about the other folks who went to tell the RA about the problem. Remember, the RA also got shot. Certainly one of the complainants (to the RA) must have seen something.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but even when you think you've got a grasp on the full story, and it's long after the act, that still doesn't mean you know what really went on, or even if it's possible to find out.

Excellent point.

Police would have been at the shooters dorm room 10 minutes after the arrival of the dog.
Would have never finished the note.
30 plus victims would not be victims.

Above is a direct quote in its entirety of your post #280.

The comments, beginning with “excellent point” is your commentary and not a quote from a previous post.

Therefore, your reply to me is totally misleading in an effort to dodge the point that you have lots to say, but no facts, no information and precious little logic.

In other words, you have made a lot of stupid posts based on nothing but BS.

The title of your thread is “Heads Must Roll”.

That says it all.

Heads must roll because the cops spent time looking for the person the victim’s roommate believed to be the suspect.

Heads must roll based on your brilliant summation of the situation, based on a story written by another person equally ill informed.

Fox News this morning, quoting a NY paper, not the Times, was very specific in describing what the room mate told the cops.

I can’t find the exact quote, buy my summation of it will be found to be very close.

When you get the correct quote, please post it.

“Excellent point”, being the comment to post #264

I have a problem with that.
The victims roommate, not an actual wittness, assumed it was the victims boyfriend, the campus security assumed it there after, and it was assumed a simple ‘domestic dispute’.

Heads will Roll,
an ounce of prevention would have resulted in zero dead at VT .
Forget the less than spectacular security/ police work post 7:15 AM. Completely another matter, that was the second failure.
The first failure was the shooter being actually a student,
in light of his known history.

I dont think the boyfriend took her up to her room, whats the point, she was going to meet her roommate for class.

The suspect then found her (do they have universal dorm keycards?) and started arguing, and he shot her and the RA.

Plus no one else on the floor saw him do it, since there were no other suspect descriptions available until the roommate showed up.

So, the PD, knowing that 90+ percent of stuff like this is someone you know, followed the boyfriend lead.

I also want to see the relationship between the shooter and the girl. I don’t buy that he was just following her around randomly. They must have had some contacts, either in class, online, etc.

The suspects roommates also said he had been getting up really early 5am or whatever, which means he was probably following her around or waiting to determine her routine (either at the boyfriends place, or at her dorm)
