While most FReepers were in D.C. protecting the Monuments and showing support for our troops, several FReepers remained in Olney to keep our presence visible, to also show support for the troops and to also show the moonbats that we are still alive and kicking, that WE DO NOT CUT & RUN!!
A REAL BIG THANK YOU goes to iMacMan and his wife, and to the Mrs of MrMrsRedWhiteBlue and three of her kids, being also the Trooprally's grandkids. These six loyal FReepers also stood out in the same wind and cold as we did in D.C.
Because of the wind and because the skelton crew of FReepers had iMacMan holding a sign in place of his camera, he was not able to take any pictures. Because of the sleet and snow cover from Friday night, the holes for the banner could not be found. The holes could not be found because the snow had frozen solid and it was to slippery to get up the slight slope to find them.
But iMacMan says that the Big Flag was up and the kids held smaller ones.

And the moonbats only had 4 on their corner. Just as in D.C., we had them out numbered.

Most of the Olney regulars were at Permitted Area G. This is the circle at the entrance of Arlington Cemetery on the Virginia side of the Memoral Bridge. They included the Apple Blossom, BufordP, BMWcyle, Cindy_True_Supporter, Concretebob, Fraxinus, Lurker Bill, and the Trooprallys.
The below pic shows the moonbats coming over the bridge. Our 60 FReepers, lurkers, and active and retired military personal. We are at the bottom half of the pic. The people to the right are the biased media. Because of the angle of the camera the moonbats look like they are right on top of us but they are about 200 feet away. The media is on an island.
The U.S./Marine flag pole is from the Olney corner.
At one time we felt like the Little Big Horn, but this time we won. The moonbats march was to turn to their left and proceed to the Pentagon. But they also turned right and started going around the circle. So we were surrounded. Because there was only ONE police officer there at this time, the moonbats also came right up to us and we verbally engaged them. We were on the curb and they were in the street, hundreds of them. And we also had to keep a watchful eye on our rear area in case the moonbats came onto the grass to press us.
The officer eventually called in reinforcements. Mounted police galloped over and the motorcycle police showed up in a line, sirens blaring and pushing the moonbats back. It was exciting to see the push back.
We had a great adrenalin rush for about 15 minutes.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Also at Arlington Circle were: NautiNurse, Nick Danger, SouthernBoyupNorth, Pyro7480, OlneyKeith, rlmorel, concretebob, GunsareOK, nutmeg and zelig. We also brought two friends of ours who flew down from Montreal, Canada for the Gathering of Eagles. They are actually American citizens, and this was their first rally ever (WHAT a first rally!). Received an e-mail from them yesterday... they are still "high" from the entire Gathering of Eagles experience, and are having a tough time "coming down". They are already asking when the NEXT anti-moonbat rally is! LOL

Did we ever... It was positively exhilarating! What an amazing FReep... I'll remember this one for a long time.
Mega Kudos to Mr. and Mrs. Trooprally, BufordP, bmwcyle and Apple Blossom (and probably other FReepers I don't know) for first staking out the permitted areas beneath the Lincoln Memorial (across from the moonbats' gathering area), then for stealthily moving the FReep (with the MOAB lying in wait) to another permitted area -- Arlington Circle -- before the police blocked off Memorial Bridge for the Al Qaeda Appeasers' Parade. What happened naturally was that non-FReeper Eagles gravitated to the DC Chapter's clever signs and joined them, and together we all made a formidable WALL of loud and proud patriots and flapping American flags. I understand there was also quite a gauntlet of Eagles on both sides of Memorial Bridge, heckling the heck out of the moonbats as they marched toward the Pentagon.
So many well-deserved KUDOS go to so many FReepers for this successful, history-making Gathering of Eagles event: Jim Robinson, Kristinn, tgslTakoma, Syncro, Doctor Raoul, Angelwood, Trueblackman, RaceBannon, Dutchy, Lloyd Marcus, BufordP, NautiNurse, Nick Danger, SouthernBoyupNorth, Pyro7480, bmwcyle, Apple Blossom, trooprally, Fraxinus, OlneyKeith, rlmorel, concretebob, Lurker Bill, Cindy_True_Supporter, GunsareOK, zelig, dinasour, AliVeritas, SoldiersPrayingMom, LeoFL, AlbionWilde and InterestingTimes. I know many of these FReepers were working tirelessly behind the scenes or in front of microphones... hauling, packing and unpacking... doing guard duty... making nametags and signs, and keeping the MOAB from blowing away during the fierce winds on Saturday. Forgive me if I neglected to include anyone else who contributed.
Oh, and God bless whoever provided those of us at both the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Circle rallies with hundreds of those fabulous cardboard signs: Peace Through Strength, Safe Since 9-11, Win the War or Lose to Jihad!, etc.
Together with MoveAmericaForward, Gold Star Moms, Blue Star Moms, Rolling Thunder, Patriot Guard Riders, Free Republic, Protest Warrior and other groups and individuals, we made history on Saturday, March 17, 2007. There were 30,000 of us and about 10,000 moonbats. As Kristinn stated yesterday on the Fox News Channel: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
I should have known you would work it out to be in both places!
Wonderful idea to use the kids again...I know you are proud of their activity and glad they were not in the group who felt threatened on the circle. I am very relieved that it is over and no one was hurt.
Wish I could figure out how to be in 2 places at once!
