The Students for a Democratic Society contingent will meet at the Lincoln Memorial (one block south of the march assembly area at 23rd St NW and Constitution). We will gather at 11am, then join the march on the Pentagon at 12:30pm. We are calling on SDSers to wear black armbands, to symbolize our mourning and outrage; carry Iraqi and Palestinian flags, to show our solidarity with the Arab people's resistance to U.S. imperialism; and bring banners for SDS and local chapters, to show our numbers and collective strength.

Could get interesting on Saturday.
Well, I gotta give the communists this much - they've got staying power.
Heck, I thought SDS went away years ago.
They're a bunch of punks.
Let's hope they pick a fight with the guys protecting the memorial. It will be a royal hippie/terrorist ass kicking.
BTW, you still in tight with Hugh?
Why don't they march to Berkeley with the rest of the recycled 1960's losers? Sheesh.
Angry kids looking for a cause to justify their anger. Most of them grow up and remember these days with shame and guilt. The rest just end up in prison or skid row.
I'm ready for battle, let them bring it on.
The SDS?? LOL, they are all in their 60's by now. Are they gonna attack with their canes and walkers? Assault and Battery with Earth shoes?
The SDS did their part as useful idiots in helping to hand over S.Vietnam to the Communists.
Angry kids looking for an excuse to cause harm to others, deface our beloved memorials and to break the law. They are in for a rude awakening if they DARE to deface our memorials.
They're still stuck in the '60's--pretty scary. Wonder if David Horowitz knows about this?
I feel sorry for those naive folks who think they will be marching with a group of peaceful protesters. They are in for the surprise of their lives.
Some things never change.
The SDS thugs from the 60's have apparently found a way to get "chapters" organized on campuses. See all the list of campus reps at the bottom? This gathering is not about aging hippies. It's new young punk radicals.
No doubt.
Shades of the Chicago Seven...two suicides, one murderer, Eldridge Cleaver became a conservative, etc. If you look at what became of the "big name" hippies, you can see so clearly exactly how wrong they were, and why this cannot happen to the us again.
Does anyone else remember what became of the other hippie leaders?
The SDS? I thought they would be drawing Social Security by now. Maybe this is the SDS grandchildren... Is there no enemy of the uS that they do not love?
They're anarchists, and started to form as the SDS in the early '80's (anti-Reaganites). There was a group of them forming in NH in 84, and I had the pleasure of interviewing their 'leader' on the radio. I doubt he did any more such interviews - it was, shall we say, counterproductive to his cause. ;)
No, not Social Security. These are young ones - they're on welfare.
I suspect the Foggy Bottom group will come down 23rd st, to the Lincoln Memorial, then across Memorial bridge then on down to the Pentagon, where busses will be waiting to haul away tear-gassed protestors.
Remember this guy?
Tom Hayden on the left
