Former Iranian General and assistant defense minister Ali Rez Asghari left Iran using a new passport and pseudonym and managed to smuggle important intelligence documents, according to a report published Friday morning by London based newspaper Asharaq Alawsat.

According to the report, the missing Iranian general was carrying documents and maps of Iran's military and intelligence infrastructure as well as information regarding the relations between the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hizbullah and the Islamic Jihad.

In addition, the general was reported to possess information regarding the Iranian nuclear program as well as information about Iran's strategic military plans.

Meanwhile, Turkish newspapers reported that three Iranians disappeared in Turkey, following allegations that they attempted to smuggle missiles into Iran.

Turkish newspapers reported Friday morning that the three Iranians, who owned Turkish companies operating, disappeared late last year following their attempts to smuggle spare used missile parts to Iran.

Reportedly, the attempt to export American-made rocket pieces to Iran, was foiled when Turkish customs informed the US authorities of the sale.

Turkish newspapers reported that the three Iranians disappeared shortly after the incident, last December.

"How can you have a "used" missile part?"

They go bad surprisingly quickly. More properly called an "expired" missle part.

I wish the administration would remind people how Clinton nearly shattered the CIA; I'm surprised to read that the CIA isn't helping Iranian defectors and think they should start immediately! Thanks for the ping to this.

Quite a story considering nothing is known and it is about Iran to begin with.

I just hope to God this guy is not actually an Iranian planted fountain of disinformation. The last thing this administration needs is another set of "forged documents" (like those that some CIA-turncoats and the Wilson's helped the French plant into our intelligence stream).

I wonder how many of those young patriotic qualified folks who've come in under Bush with either be intimidated to turn by the Clintonistas or will get so sick of them being in higher levels that it causes them to quit.

Just one more way the Clinton's are putting peoples lives at risk.

I figured you probably would recognize Keith Timmerman's name..

Nancee Pelosee demands that George Bush not use any of the information gathered to get a hand up on Iran.

She does not authorize it as Queen of the World.

Good stuff at your link...

According to anonymous officials who spoke to the Turkish newspaper, ‘Millet’, the Turkish intelligence and police had discovered that Asghari was opposed to the Iranian government and that

he holds information regarding its nuclear plan.

Let us hope all these things are true. Obviously it could change the equation as how the Mullahs play their games. Surely they must know we have or soon will have fully proven in very deep penetration bombs that can take out their deep underground facilities. We can leave their population in tack and literally take out their below and above ground industrial, commercial, and military infrastructure if we choose to do so.
