Good stuff. Thanks for posting it!
I love Garcias music, Bobby Wier too.
Now That was great.
My hat is off to Jerry in that great Chorus in the sky.
Wow! Brought tears to these old eyes.
For ages My "process identification" on the company VAX (this is old school computers) was "boxofrain"
I've always thought that "America The Beautiful" was a lot better than the "Star Spangled Banner" .... read the words ....
Thanks for the link. That is not an easy song to do acapella, and those 3 guys did it beautifully.
That was great. Do you know the date on that?
Actually it's exactly what I'd expect - the Dead were truly great musicians. Thanks for posting the link - very nice.

I was at the game. Opening Day, 1994 (I think). Word had gone out that the Dead would sing the anthem and folks were stoked! The place was packed and there were loads of Deadheads everywhere, especially in the cheap seats. The crowd went nuts when they were introduced. During the anthem loads of folks danced like at a Dead show, kind of twirling around while pointing their fingers up into the beautiful sky. Seeing Jerry up on the jumbotron with his Giants jacket on was classic! Only in FRisco, baby! God Bless America!
They did a great job. Beautiful!
That was essentially barbershop harmony (tenor harmony higher than the melody) without a bass-singing line.

Saying that they sucked is an insult to all things that suck honestly like vacuum cleaners and industrial pumps.
Calling their performance wooden is an insult to wood.
It's hard to pick which part of their live show I hated the most.
It could have been the interminable 'jamming' that went on without the slightest thought to melody, rhythym, or chord structure.
It could have been the fact that their instruments weren't in tune.
It could have been the hideously off key vocals.
Perhaps it was the crowd, although to be honest 'mob' would have been a better description.
The 'concert', such as it was, simply couldn't be over soon enough to suit me. I left after a mere 3 hours.
In spite of my better judgement I allowed myself to be talked into attending a second show because I was told it must have been an 'off night' for them.
Nope. Same thing. I left after an hour and a half.
I will never understand what people saw in them. They were horrible.
Maybe it's the fact that it's most likely I was the only person in the crowd not under the influence of some illegal psychoactive drug.
Awful just barely begins to describe them.

Our walls are built of cannonballs; Our motto is "Don't Tread on Me."
Wow. That was good. Makes me want to like baseball.
Nicely done.
I have been looking for this for a long, long time. Saw it in some rockumentary years ago.
Thanks for posting it.
