Beware the circular firing squad. That will NEVER elect conservatives. Remember Reagan's 11th commandment folks?

What is going to happen in Montana? I see with 99 percent reporting (yet the CNN site shows all counties with 100 percent reporting....) Burns just about came back to win it.

Will there be a recount there?

I don't think he ever be impeached. The Dims may subpoena his cabinet members, etc., but not Bush directly. They know the price will be too high, and 2 years are no long.

Pray for our soldiers that our enemies will not be emboldened into causing greater carnage. Our country needs to make a choice on the War on Terror-- either we fight it to win, or we do something besides fight. Fighting to lose as the Democrats seem to suggest as the strategy is not an option.

I think I just heard on FOX that there is a number (1000?) that triggers a recount.

but people do respond to facts, and they're just not getting them.

The President is operating in a media propaganda campagain like we've never seen before. Combine that with the amount of un-educated, uninterested, dumbed-down American voters who only have learned to "hate the war" and don't realize the ramifications of defeat in Iraq, and we have what we have this morning.

So I imagine Pelosi will start an amnesty program for all in Canada. Just wait and see.

I'm afraid of the same thing. After all, the Dems won, so isn't that what the people want?

The only thing we have going for us now is the Dems have to govern, so they can't hide who they are for much longer. Hopefully, people will see the moonbats, recoil in horror and vote Pubbie to end the freakshow. I hope.

I fully expected to lose seats. I think everyone really did if they were honest with themselves.

Losing this many really sucks.

The whole leadership of the party is country club.

Melhman was concerned with nothing but raising money.

These people had all the cards in their hands, and played the weakest ones.

I honestly thought that at worst we'd lose half of the close seats.

This is what happens when people get comfortable.

My personal opinion is that 1/3 of the people almost always vote GOP, 1/3 almost always vote democrat, and a good portion of the other 1/3 are spineless"moderates" who basically lick their fingers and vote for who they think will win.

I am not into caving in on social issue, i.e., abortion, to attract moderates, but they sure can be won over with talk of a strong economy.

That is exactly how Clinton got out of conviction during his impeachment. He and the LSM were continually saying things like, "but look at the economy" every time he was on TV.

That tactic worked, and it would have rescued a lot of seats this time.

I hope you are wrong. I think he must act like a leader and say if the democrats want to cut and run in Iraq, he'll veto the budget. If they raise taxes, increase spending, defund the border wall, he'll use his veto. If the left threatens to filibuster his judges he'll veto the budget.

I hope I'm wrong, too. I believe he'll hold firm on Iraq as much as he possibly can, but you can forget the wall. Bush never wanted that in the first place. As for the rest, we shall see. Compassionate conservatism has doomed him. He needs to get over that nonsense, but quick.

Bush and the Republican party were always on the defense and they should have been more on the offense!

Hopefully he'll make these points:

1. Wants the temporary tax cuts made permanent with the next congress.

2. Calls for a bill to end partial birth abortion immediately.

3. States that any resistance from countries/areas that threaten our troops (Iran, Syria, Sadr City) will now be flattened. (Not sure we should target the Congrss now... ;) )

4. Flag burning ammendment.

Let the new Congress show what they're going to be like from the beginning because they will howl at each of these points. It is now the President's responsibility to mold the battlefield for 2008.
