I'm all for guest workers but not when they slip illegally into this country for free healthcare and education.

Open your wallets ! It's gonna bleed !

I think he found out the hard way that Washington, DC is not Austin. The Dems play for keeps in DC.

No he didn't and probably still hasn't

His daddy's sojourn in the White nHouse should have showed him how the game is played

With a dem congress and MSM out for blood he is REALLY going to catch hell now

Sad but true

If most Americans knew the truth(s), our economy would collapse because people would not be able to sleep at night.

Let us not forget the agenda(s) of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, Organization of American States, the UN, Liberal Socialists, the Nation of Islam, the LSM and implementation of electronic voting machines.

Americans for the last 18 years have (or longer) have had nothing but the smoke and mirrors from the majority of politicians. Washington is badly broke with political power, public image and larger budgets being all that truly matters to 80% of the 'elected' officials.

The fix is in now for increased spending, Shamnesty and higher taxes while both sides of the aisle continue to propagate propaganda, deflect blame coupled with continued attack to negate any such thing that resembles Christian Conservative Morals. Watch what happens next year to the pork projects. Do you think any real tax relief is in store for the American taxpayer? If you do, I got some ocean front property you might be interested in just on the outskirts of Death Valley.

I agree. You just can't play nice with democrats.

The biggest problem I saw is that the republicans let the democrats shape the debate.

We had a great economy to use as a platform, but they hardly spoke one word about it.

We need to get back to the basics of conservatism and push back hard. In my opinion, it'll take a few elections to take the house back.

What was the final tally for house seats?

Well then, how does "Rove, You Bastard" sound? He is a good man and had nothing to do with this. You can not fight months of propaganda, distortion, extortion and innudendo.

I can't believe the defeatist attitude from conservatives/Republicans on FreeRepublic...yes, we got our noses bloodied; but we can turn this around and we've got 2 years to do it...

Problem is we can't turn around 12 million new citizens who will be voting in '08.
Bush won't even have to bother with the "guest worker" charade.
But the Dems will get all the credit.

It is more than just over.
The whole country is an immigration New Orleans.
The dikes have fallen and it is the Deluge.

He shouldn't have to! Any person with any intellengce at all knows why. Besides, the President has explained it over and over.

I'd bet not one in a hundred American citizens even know those Iraqi documents exist, let alone have any idea whatsoever what they contain. The media has convinced these people that the WMD argument was a lie and they have convinced these people that Saddam was in no way a threat to this country.

It just boggles my mind that the administration failed to take advantage of the wealth of damning information in those documents. The first time most Americans ever heard of them was from the New York Times. That's just amazing! All the vague generalities about "evil doers" are fine, but people do respond to facts, and they're just not getting them.

When someone calls me a liar, I defend myself. Bush just acts like the lies are true.

Sorry if I'm Bush bashing this morning, but he deserves it. This election was, in large part, a referendum on his performance, whether you choose to believe it or not.

I only hope the impeachment procedings will prevent the Congress for passing the immigration amnesty nightmare.

We lost because a third of House Republicans are either under indictment or sending love emails to pages.

It certainly didn't help us, did it??

And they should have made an issue of the Federal Judges

Most Americans know diddly about appointments but hate the liberal rulings that come down

Rove is a complete BOOB

I say it over and over it was the fear of the democrats that had kept the GOP in power NOT any political acumen on the part of the GOP

I suppose he's going to announce his new ultra moderate strategy for victory?

It'll be some puke about 'working' with the new Congress and 'bipartisanship' and all that other blather.

If anyone will be practicing bipartisanship, it will be the President and the President alone. The dems will be in no mood to cooperate with Bush, and will be spending most of their time looking for a good place on Bush to stick their knives into.

I won't be watching it - if I were Bush, I would make it a 10 second news conference telling the dems to go straight to hell.

President Bush: "I'm sorry I abandoned all my conservative principles and cost my party, and my country, a very important election. I am officially a lame-duck."

Bush just might add - "Since it appears that this election was a referendum on me and my administration, both Dick Cheney and I will resign our offices as soon as the new speaker is sworn into the House! We would like to congratulate President Pelosi on being the first woman president!"

That's the kind of attitude that will get you a dictatorship....you are obiovusly of the mindset that the american people are for illegal immigration; they're not....you've got to watch this play out before you call for a doomed country.

You nailed it. Bush let the Dems and MSM lie and lie and lie about him. If you don't answer a lie, eventually it becomes perceived truth. The vast majority of people don't pay attention to these things like we do. But they're fed up with the war because they've been told it's lost and 3000 of our finest have died for nothing. They want to stop the dying. They're not analyzing any deeper than that.

The MSM will now switch from their 24/7 help the RATS get elected mode to their 24/7 help protect the RATS and cover their a$$ mode.

Exactly

BUT I guarantee you that the message the STUPID PARTY will take from this is that they weren't liberal enough

We need a LEADER for this country and I see NONE on the horizon

I also hope all those on this site will now stop with the MSM is dead BS

Here here how many times does the President, the Vice President and many other Republicans have to explain it. The bottom line that the American people do not believe it they have bought into the RAT rhetoric.
