About a half hour ago I got some news that knocked the wind out of my sails.

Somehow this comforts me. No matter if the worse is true it is still going to be ok.

Thanks.

......holding a sleeping baby, too. Doesn't get much better than that!

I'll have to find the original link and put up the story that goes with it.

There's another story here on this wonderful soldier.

That's no solier BG, that's an Airman. One of my boys. Proud of that I am. :)

Thanks so much for bringing that story to us.

When airmen wear those earth-tone fatigues...they are camo'ed to
many of us civilians!

Some of us grew up in the age when airmen were in some sort of blue.

But it's all good...if it keeps us confused, no telling how it
plays with the heads of the terrorists/enemy.

...and if you don't study and aren't smart, you'll end up stuck doing
day-care duty in a place like Iraq...

(G-d I love Kerry; well at least his slip-ups)

So did I. Although we did wear green fatigues, same as the Army did then, but Army switched to BDUs before Air Force. Up until about '73 or so, all the services had some sort of Khaki uniform too. In the 50s and maybe earlier sixties they even had a uniform with shorts and a pith helmet.

Now the services are going to separate utility/work uniforms. The Air Force's will be shades of blue, tan, and gray, the Army's ACU is shades of green, the Marines is greens and browns.

Army ACU (Army Combat Uniform)

Air Force Airman Battle Uniform

Marines Standard MARPAT battledress.

Navy Battledress/Utility
