The first minute or so was a quiet intro but eventually I heard the audio but couldn't see the video. Updating Quicktime didn't work for me. I had to download the latest Quicktime before I could see it. You might want to try that.

Updating it didn't work for me. I had to download the latest and greatest. Then it worked great.

And that's a professional-quality video cam (or damn close) they were using as well, not something you'd get at Circuit City. In 2001, I doubt it could have cost them less than $2500 minimum; if it's a true pro model, it could have cost more than $50K ... potentially a lot more. Not really. My brother shoots stuff for ESPN, ABC, FOX etc., for a living and he has a broadcast quality Sony 3 chip camera which cost him a little over $3,500.

what the devil is that crap about "you might speculate that perhaps some navigational equipment, some electronics, put two planes into the World Trade Center?"
I don't remember hearing anything like that on 9/11. Where did this crap come from? And that idiot voice on the street...it's after-narrated, right?
This is just plain ridiculous. No more time to waste on it.

This site shows significant damage from the North Tower collapse and fires that went largely unfought
http://www.911myths.com/html/wtc7_fire.html
I watched the uncut CNN live feed most of the day Monday and around 4:45pm they announced the NYFD said they thought WTC7 was going to collapse soon.

WTC7 was the home of the mayor's emergency command post, as well as a Secret Service operations center. Hence WTC7 had a major backup power requirement. Hence the building was also housing a large amount of diesel fuel, to power the generators.
The debris from the collapse of (one of the) WTC towers didn't cause significant structual damage to WTC7. However, it was enough damage to cause fires to break out, and those fires were fueled by the diesel tanks. (Diesel is less flammable than gasoline, but still flammable.)
Pay attention, now, as the failure mode outlined below is the same for both WTC Towers 1 and 2, as well as WTC 7:
- The resulting fire heated and thus weakened the steel trusswork for the floors of the building. Hence the trusses started to sag, due to the basic load put on it by the floor, and the central weight of the trusses themselves.
- These steel trusses, while weakened and sagging, still were not yet hot enough to undergo plastic deformation. Hence they were still the same length that they originally were. These trusses were anchored to the exterior wall of the building (among other points).
- Now picture this in your mind - the sagging of the unchanged length truss causes its end anchor points - the (vertical) exterior walls, as well as any internal support beams - to pull in. The building is essentially being attacted by a boa constrictor, but this snake is on the inside not the outside.
- This deformation of the main load bearing vertical structures caused them to fail. Once this happens on one floor, all the building load from the floors above it come slamming down onto the floor below it.
- Thus the pancake collapse of all floors is initiated. Any "little puffs of smoke" seen are due to the air of the floor currently being collapsed getting compressed, and having no place to go other than breaking out a window.
Of course you could find this out with 10-20 minutes of Google-ing. Stop being lazy.
