In this picture released by Israeli Defence Forces press office, Israeli soldiers place an Israeli flag at a 'Sahlav' military post in Lebanon August 5, 2006. The United States and France agreed on Saturday on a Security Council resolution calling for fighting between Israel and Hizbollah to end, but on the ground both sides traded fire and a Hizbollah rocket killed three.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Made it through another year. (Phew!)
Mughniyeh has now been sent to direct the Hezzies in Lebanon. Israel is finally hitting them hard and the Irianian ruler, Madmanajad, has sent this fellow in to the rescue. He's real bad news and the FBI has been after him for 25 years. The Mughman has had a hand in just about every horrible event over there for a long time. He works closely with Osama and the Tehran Madman. Iran is constantly re-supplying its fighters in Lebanon through air-shipments to Syrian bases. The missils are then transported over the many mountains on mule to the Bekkah valley and on into Lebanon. They can't all be stopped after they leave the Syrian bases, SO those bases may soon be bombed. The UN babbling and any resolution with the Frogs won't be accepted by Iran. The Syrian transit points may be taken out. This info comes from Debka-file......
YW! Here's a replay of the post I first wrote to you about Iraqi food and we've been playing musical posts ever since then - you were sick and then I've been actually sleeping at night sometimes.
Tell me what you like the most and give me some hints about how I might make them at home - I'll find the recipes, just tell me what's so good about them - the meat or veggies or spices or whatever ...

Next time you're posting I want to ask about some of those Iraqi dishes.
I couldn't find this one you spoke of: "manwa selwa."
I already make my own dolma all the time - love them. Do you have "cubba" or "kubba"? I'd like to try to make that. It sounds like "schawerma" is pretty much gyro meat, right? Do they have a yogurt sauce like tzaziki, too?
Also, do you know how they make the chicken meat for schawermas - I know how to do fake gyro meat with beef and lamb - but how is the chicken done? Is it ground?
Have you had "khouzi"? Do they put green beans, okra or eggplant in lots of dishes - or make these the main dish? Do you eat lamb and if so, is a lot of their meat in the dishes you eat made with lamb?
Is that Tigris river fish itself similar to any fish we have here that you can think of? I mean, like catfish or trout or flounder?
Is all the bread flatbread like a pita? Do you know any of the names they call it? Thanks!
....
One more on my list of food questions for later: "koobideh."

It's one of the handful of Middle Eastern countries I haven't visited yet.
I was thinking of going out through Istanbul when I go on vacation next month since the Amman airport is a zoo due to the activities going on next door to Jordan.
Our travel department has been putting people out through Kuwait, though. (Yecchhh...been there and done that.)
it's 12:45am...I think I hurt myself...
Mules big enough to carry the larger missiles must be huge!
If you can, try and get to Kusadasi...beautiful city and you can visit Ephusus...although you've probably seen anough ruins...what am I thinking...
because you're a news "jinkie" just like the rest of us..
