Prayer Thread for Israel and the World

Inviting those of you who feel you want to do so to post your prayers for Israel, for their warriors and politicians, for our own President and our military. I invite you to pray as well for innocents in the Middle East and the world who are at risk because of blind hate and aggression of the controllers of their culture.

Our father, we lift our prayers to you for the people of Israel, for the safety and endurance of their armed forces going into battle, and for those soldiers and innocents who have been taken. We pray for the courage and steadfastness of the Israeli leaders, and for that of our own leaders. We pray especially for your guidance and comfort for our President, who carries an even heavier burden now.

We pray for innocents throughout the Middle East whose lives are lost or damaged because of senseless rage and hatred in their culture, regardless of their nationality. May they be protected from any who would use them for selfish gain.

We pray for your guidance and counsel for our own soldiers around the world, especially those in Iraq who seem especially vulnerable right now. We pray that this conflict will have the best outcome for people who wish only to live in peace, whatever that outcome may be.

Finally we lift our prayer that power-mad dictators will fail in their evil intentions, regardless of where those dictators are.

Heavenly Father, we ask that you bless our President and all the leaders of the world, fill them with the knowledge and heart they need in the coming days. Soften the hearts of our enemies and fill them with the Spirit of the Lord. Glory be to God in Heaven, and on Earth, peace, goodwill toward Men.

Of you might I have no doubt, if it be your pleasure to slay me or to save me I submit to your will. Though I see through this glass darkly, I have faith that your plan is the best plan, even as it is a mystery to me. Hi,

I haven't been able to post on FR much in the past few months...but times like these draw people together. Especially when I saw that there is at least one Freeper trapped in the war zone. I'd post the thread but I am way beyond exhausted from my job.

I posted one lame post...around 3:30 ET or so.

Anyway... thank you, for the thread, JustaCowgirl. The world needs it.

You know what makes me mad? It's like over half the world doesn't take this stuff seriously. But that's because they get to coast on the actions of the minority.

I hope I'm making sense.

Okay, I'm super tired--it's a long story and nobody's interested. But I will be praying for Israel and the U.S. and for peace to ultimately prevail. Through strength, as it seems clear, now (to my untrained, CNN-watching eyes) is what is needed.

May it be, Merciful Father, that the nations of the world will be drawn closer to Your Healing Hand through this conflict and turmoil. May every shield of protection surround each one who is engaged on the side of Mighty God ... may every misdeed and mishap fall upon those whose god is greed and power. Sweep away the enemy, O Lord, that they not rise up another day to kill and maim.

Hold high those whose struggle is the cause of liberty and freedom ... grant them success. Give the greatest wisdom to the leaders of the free world, that their actions would be swift and sure. Bless every mother's child who is engaged in battle, that victory would be won.

But... I do have faith that things will work out. Isn't there a passage in the Bible that those who protect Israel will be protected?

Things will work out. They must, and so they will. If we all keep praying.

Okay, I'm a little tired, LOL.

But not really, because I do feel that way. :)
