As a political junkie, I find all this fascinating. We are in a unique situation when the sitting Vice President is a non starter. That is where Republican have recently found most nominees.
Some years ago, I saw some promise in Fred Thompson (R Tenn). But, he came to his senses and got the hell out of Washington.
