This is key-rather than call Bush, Jorge, and trash him without hearing his updated proposal (It must be updated, or else he wouldnt be having a primetime Oval Office speech)going after the industries that bring them in would be a good start. The city I live in hired a contractor for a bikepath that hired illegals to do the landscaping. My phone conversation with the guy who accepts bid proposals for city work did not go well. He actually said the bids from legal landscapers werent, and I quote, "cost effective"..
He was born in Connecticut, but spent 58 of his 59 years in Texas.
He's a Texan.
Do you need a cigarette after that orgasm?
Think of this they aren't even paying the penalties, such as they are, for the first offense let alone second...bottom line is laws are not being enforced at all.
Laws are not being enforced to go after and collect back taxes from the employers employing these invaders who pay these people under the table.
I see that lately the biggest companies that appear to be hiring and doing it right out in the open are CONSTRUCTION companies!
Cost effective? Than maybe the IRS would like to know just how cost effective it was!
See my above post-city government is even getting in the game..
That is a conspiracy canard.
It's just with the little things, like population, economy, crime, corruption, and chaos where we'll be completely intertwined.
Not a chance.
"58 of his 59 years in Texas"
Hmmm, GWB was born in Connecticut, attended Phillips-Andover Academy in MA and attended Yale University. Tell us...how did he do all that in just one year?
GWB is no Texan.

Is anybody SANE HERE?.. The last thing America NEEDS is one more democrat..
HELLO?.. SLAP SLAP.. America wake up...
I called a buddy who works for ICE here in STL and gave him the name of the contractor-Brickman Lawnscapes..
Amen you pegged it right on. People like George Bush, Jeb Bush and many Republican Senators realize this also. The glory of the Senate is because of the terms they have they can take a long term perspective. We have to have a large amount of the Hispanic vote in the future to be a viable party period. Many of these illegals have been here for 20 or more years have American families and so on. These people will vote. Also calling American citizens "Anchor babies" and making further degrading comments about them because of accidents of birth isnt going to be a great draw to the GOP. THe marketing and listening to the Hispanic community by the House memebers has been horrid.
It seems there is a logic to this by the "deport them all crowd". It appears to me that many wish to you use this as a issue in 2006 and really in 2008. THe theory is that the so many people will come to the Republican party, that victory is assured. I have major doubts about this and in fact think it will have the opposite effect. In Virgina when the GOP canidiate for Gov used this in the 11th hour it failed big time. IN fact, some folks think it cost him the election. Sen Santorum I believe is a pretty hard liner on the illegal immigration issue. Well, I see that his stance is helping him big time in his race (sarc).
Whats ironic is that the majority of Mexican AMericans feel illegal immigration is a mjor problem. There is some diversity there in that community how to handle the problem. THe GOP and conservatives need to listen. This is a group that the GOP can rely on for future votes in the future.
Yes I would expect them to say that and I am glad. I have been around and lived amongst Hispanics all of my life and the vast majority have been decent law abiding folks. I am just saying that human nature tends towards tribalism and if they see people like themselves rounded up or mistreated they will naturally have some second thoughts. I would also be very interested in how many members of that group come from families that were the beneficiary of Reagan's 1986 amnesty.
We Texans consider him a Texan. You don't have a say in the matter.
It cost Pete Williams the governorship on California.
