You all may need this at some point. I know of a Senator that should take advantage of this. The website has other records you can request too.

Anyone know how secure this site is? I get a little dicey whenever an e-form asks for an SSN...

I actually registered an official copy of my DD-214 at the county courthouse. In case anything ever happens to me, my wife will need this document for all kinds of reasons. An attorney told me it was smart to do this and only cost a couple of dollars if I remember correctly. Just some friendly advice from one old retired Brother to another.

Cool! Maybe now I can get a copy of my dad's service record that my mother has so far refused to let me have a copy of!

Many thanks - I've needed my tattered original on more occasions than I ever imagined when I stuck it into that envelope way back when.
Good thing they're kept private, too. I wouldn't want anyone on FR to know I didn't really get the Platinum Star when I took Pork Chop Hill back from Richtofen and the Spanish Armada...

Thanks. Worked like a charm. Wish all sites worked this smoothly.

Nifty. The part where it said "enter you serial number" it also says "NO LETTERS". Mine begins with a letter.
