From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice,
"Eloi, Eloi" lama sabachthani?" - which means, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah."
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge.
He filled it with wine viengar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink.
The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He gave up His spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in tow from top to bottom.
The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open
And the bodies of many holy people had died were raised to life.
They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection
They went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake
And all that had happened they were terrified and exclaimed, "Surely He was the Son of God!"

We can't even imagine the terrible feelings that Jesus had as He tasted sin for the first time and lost sight of Your Holiness after being in intimate communion with You for His whole human existence. But, we can be ever grateful to You and Him for loving us so much that You were willing to pay the ultimate price that we might live and seek You out for Eternity.

Praying with you on this Good Friday, Ohio, that our President continues to rely on his Savior and Lord daily. On this day that is the beginning day of our salvation, the one where Christ suffered and died to bring us life, let us all rely on His redeeming grace alone. He shed his blood and gave his life, that our blood would run free and pure in redeemed bodies and our lives would be eternally with Him. Give George Bush, his family, our nation, our troops and each of us, Dear Lord, the knowledge that we are forever washed in the blood and redeemed by grace.

We have all contributed to the sins of the cross and the agony and pain suffered by our Precious Savior.
