Mideast governments will never be our "partners." Those governments are run by the enemy.
I believe that the entire UAE is actually the CIA.
There, I said it, and I shall stand by that belief.
All in all, congress looks pretty foolish.
What exactly do we trade with the UAE ?
Yeah, the media sure gives him LOTS of opportunities to explain things to us, when they're not asking about Abu Grabe or WMDs. Can't figure out why he can't get the "message out" especially with such a cooperative media.
Sheesh, just drop it already Mr. President.
There are no moderate Arabs. I'm been shown the error of my ways by our Republican led Congress. They are all terrorists, or at very least eager to look the other way when a terrorist gives them the secret handshake. Michelle Malkin was right. FDR's rounding up of the Japanese is justifiable. We should be doing that with the Arabs today. The rest should be left to be slaughtered, and when their tyrants cannot adequately control their masses incapable of ever getting ahold of this "freedom thing", we should just finish off by nuking Mecca.
Analysts said the developments could make cash-rich investors in the Persian Gulf, where there is the widespread belief that the furor was rooted in anti-Arab bias, wary of high-profile investments in the United States. And the latest round of negotiations on a new free-trade arrangement between the U.S. and the UAE, scheduled for Monday in the United Arab Emirates, was postponed.
No matter, we don't need them! Infact, we don't want their oil either. They can take that back, and since our enviro's are also right it would be wrong to use our own, solar power is the way to go.
or this
or this
We had a $3 billion trade surplus with them in 2004, according to the USTR. Reuters reported $7 billion, but I don't believe it.
And Trump Tower
And that doesn't even begin to show the docks!
Why don't you just drop it?
Looks like we send them machinery, aircraft, vehicles and electrical machinery.
They send us mineral fuel and woven apparel.
Kind of hard to drop it when our Congress has just thrown its finger in the face of the entire Middle east and said "Screw you", considering we're in a war on terror and all and reliant on them for intel, bases etc... Or maybe we're not in a war anymore. I have my doubts about now given the behavior of our representatives.
At any rate you cannot equate allies with terrorists and then when you get the port deal dropped because of it, expect it all to go away. YOU and folks like you brought this on, well, there are consequences to your actions. And thank to YOU and OTHERS, he has to deal with some of those consequences. It ain't over and won't be anytime soon because of it.
It really is incumbent that President Bush start getting out there with a fierce attitude for things he believes in and desires to see happen and do what is neccessary to convince the American people that his vision is worth fighting for.
He has let too many items on his agenda to slip by. However, the most important one by far, he has excelled in, and that is protecting the United States and her citizens from another attack by the demented Islamofascists, which is more than his miscreant bro, Bill, ever did despite all of his meaningless blather.
Seriously, I bet they are all nervous right now. Congress' business is saving its own face, and there are plenty on record as anti-foreign involvement.
THe President is just not speaking to us. His audience is much broader-like the middle east. I glad he made that statement
congress stopped a state owned arab company here, and only regarding a specific investment in this piece of infrastructure. the UAE can and will buy a whole host of other US assets, without question. but even amongst friends, there are boundaries.
