HAS ANYBODY SAID IT YET? BOYCOTT THE OSCARS (Oscars Live Thread)
3-4-06 | freedom4me

Posted on 03/05/2006 1:43:20 PM PST by freedom4me

I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.

I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.

Pass it on...

Yes. I think that's the first time I saw her in anything. It was a pretty good movie, and between gazing into Jude Law's and Ed Harris's blue eyes, the subject was interesting, too.

Actually I enjoyed Stewart's monologue....he was certainly poking the very people he was standing in front of..

Even the Cheney joke was more about Bjork than Cheney...

I even get the feeling that when sparring with Clooney about the first award...he was being facetious...I doubt that Clooney is "deep" enough to realize it though.

There is also a Rain, a Summer, and a Liberty in the family. Joaquin went by Leaf early on in his acting career.

Those names are actually kinda sweet. Not like Moon Unit or Dweezil Zappa. LOL

Charlize

What is that thing on her shoulder???? And the dress didn't look too bad (except for that THING on her shoulder) when it was just a waist up shot, but when you see the whole thing it's like she got it from some SCI-FI wardrobe department. Or, Lady Heather is dressing her (for all the CSI fans).

You're kidding? He changed his name to that? I absolutely adored him in Walk the Line.

Lauren Bacall walks like I do. She's old too.

Yep...that must have been him.

With all her money, you would expect she could afford & have the common decency and good taste to wear something becoming and fitting as an older woman.

But noooo....every time she shows up in frumpy, frumpy, frumpy.

Years ago I thought her an outstanding actress....

...However, I now think she should have exited from the stage a long time ago...

During Constant Gardener, I kept opening my cell phone to see how much longer?

LOL! That's how I determine whether a movie's good. Did I a) get up and go to the bathroom or b) check my watch.

Joachim is a legitimate Christian name. Church tradition says that it was the name of the father of the Blessed Virgin Mary, hence he would be the grandfather of Jesus! That's a really close relationship to the Savior!

Just looked it up. He was born Joaquin, changed it to Leaf, then changed it back to Joaquin. I like the name Joaquin - it's unusual in a classic way.
