But I wonder what else they'll do with it? Makes me just a tiny bit paranoid. If I give them a sample, who owns my DNA? Baptism for the dead is done on the basis of written records, not DNA.
Your DNA that would be used for research, would not ever be used for any other purpose.
Now, if you have a relative who joined the church, they would be interested in your Family History.

Well, to start with for a long time the only “color” found in human pigment was black. Last year they reported that some have red pigment.

That theory holds that populations of Homo sapiens left Africa 100,000 years ago and wiped out existing populations of humans. Templeton has shown that the African populations interbred with the Eurasian populations thus, making love, not war. Why can't it be more like war and rape like was the norm in warfare before we got civilized?

Precisely: the “interbreeding” could very well have been the result of rapine and pillaging.
It worked for the Romans.....

I hate when scientists insert ideologies (in this case the theory humans were like peace loving flower power hippies in the olden days) in their theories.
More than likely one set of humans killed the men folk - ATE THEM - and raped the females (all ages) and kept the ones that got pregnant and killed AND ATE the rest.

What needs explaining are how tiny the differences are; there's more genetic diversity in the average Chimpanzee troupe of a couple dozen Chimpanzees than in the entire human race Supervolcano eruption 70,000 years ago .... Tomu or Tormu ... google it.
