The contrast between these accomplished judges and the senate pretenders is well worth seeing. I am glowing w/the experience of seeing and hearing EXCELLENCE personified.

So far, the only quirky thing I've heard about Alito, is the fact he and Judge Garth would buy coffee and peanuts. Why not coffee and donuts? Or peanuts and Pepsi? Why coffee and peanuts together? What does it mean? I'm puzzled and concerned.

:-)

What's this about Alito's special blend of coffee? Is this like the wacky Easter Sunday Sermon where the priest decided to have us ponder if our lives were like a jelly doughnut (LOL! Still laughing about that one, many years later)

This reminds me of the terrible treatment John Tower got

Hypocrisy meters broke nationwide when Senators expressed shock and dismay at Tower's drinking and womanizing.

This is what was posted on Powerline Blog yesterday -- says Washington Times has the story:

The Washington Times reports that investigators in the Abramoff probe are focusing their attention on five "top tier" Congressional suspects: Senators Conrad Burns, Montana Republican; Byron Dorgan, North Dakota Democrat; and Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, along with Reps. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, and Bob Ney, Ohio Republican. If that's true, the Democrats will have a hard time painting this as a Republican problem. And, as we've said before, what has been publicly disclosed about the claim against Congressman Ney is less than overwhelming.

Now, I have to say I'm profoundly sorry to see JD on the list, because I really, really like him.

I wonder how many of these excuses for senators actually are towing the party line and personally have no qualms with Alito or his train of judicial thought.
