The Republican myth about "spending control" and "limited government" was exposed yet again today, this time by John Stossel. It made the Top Ten as a myth (or lie).
A fair and straight reporter like John Stossel (who receives many kind words from Free Republic members) exposed this unfortunate truth that many still will refuse to acknowledge, no matter how many times members right here have stated the same thing as Stossel did tonight. I hope this report emabarasses the hell out of the GOP leadership -- but it will not. I don't believe the GOP will ever claim to be the party of limited government again.
Your link sucks..how bout an easy route to isolation?
Republicans ought to have their feet held to the fire on the topic of Limited Government.
Democrats shouldn't get mileage out of "Drastic budget cuts by Republicans!" when it's just not true.
Yes. And it's such a shame because it (the profligate spending under Bush) was so unnecessary.
Seems to be a new thing: Post nothing of an article, don't link it, and expect results.
I'm glad I voted Libertarian!
Link?
Have you ever posted an article before? I am sure somebody here can help, because I am stumped when it comes to posting about a show on TV.
When posting an article on Free Republic, you MUST post a link and a URL. ABC news is showing the show right now, but there is no info on this show at ABC news. However, unless you input a URL, your post will not work.
If you have a solution, or any other member has a solution as to what to do when it asks for a URL, please inform me and other members post article yet know that there is no info at the link we put on the URL input field.
In the mean time, how about commenting on the fact that the GOP's claim to be the partyof limited government is now a mainstream myth.
What do you say?
Beware the clicker..you will go to the dark side and have to call in the marines to get you out of the ABC matrix.
See post #8.
If you have a solution, then by all means show us your expertise.
Oh yeah that was one vote down the potty
They can't, not since the biggest spender in history has occupied the White House for 5 years. Bush lied to America when he said he believed in smaller government.
Here is 2020's web site:

You are 100% correct, no matter how many fan club members of the GOP deny that.
The only possible happy outcome at this point would be the total elimination of the dem party and ballots which read "Republican vs Libertarian". The only possible way to get there is demanding runoff elections. Nobody should ever fear to vote his first choice on a first ballot, and nobody should ever hold any office with less than 50% of the vote.
I didn't think I'd ever find the damned thing:

Nobody gives a crap about fiscal issues. People vote on social issues. As one caller to a local talk show said during the election, "I don't care what Bush's policies are as long as he's against gay marriage and abortion".
Don't Libertarians know we are at war, or do they all believe the Jews blew up the world trade center?
Well, when it comes to limited government, apparently all of our votes were down the potty...
