The Grand Casino's Veranda Hotel was evacuated on Friday morning after three sticks of dynamite were found in a hotel room. Workers were changing furniture when they discovered what looked like dynamite under a bed. Police say there was no cap, fuse, or detonator.
The hotel was evacuated and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the entire facility, but nothing else was found. The Tunica County Sheriff's Department turned the dynamite over to the Memphis Police Department Bomb Squad.

A bomb threat called in to the hotel? But somebody leaves bare dynamite with no detonator? That's odd.

Something tells me that's not likely the strangest thing ever found under a hotel bed...

Well, Islam has a strict prohibition on gambling, so a casino full if inquitous American 'Crusader' 'kufar' would be a tempting target for Al Qaeda, or Al Qaeda wannabes.

Snippet: "Police say there was no cap, fuse, or detonator."
Wondering out loud Jet Jaguar where the cap, fuse and detonator
is. Hope the hotel staff is checking all the beds, closets, etc.

It's beautiful, BTW.

I remember reading a blurb about 20 years ago about a guy that left his car window down on a hot day, and he came back to
find a 10lb block of plastic explosive on a front seat.
...there was no cap, fuse, or detonator.

That's odd. Not at all. Because of those evil drug companies, and Hillary Clinton, some poor soul, with a heart condition, was reduced
to getting nitro from handling dynamite.
And now, he, or she, left behind the medicine.
To: mcg2000
Shoot, I was hoping for a picture of Ms. dynamite!
