Howard Dean's "Can't Do" Spirit
WOAI ^ ^ | 12/5/05 | ez

Posted on 12/05/2005 4:22:54 PM PST by ez

SAN ANTONIO) -- Saying the "idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong," Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean predicted today that the Democratic Party will come together on a proposal to withdraw National Guard and Reserve troops immediately, and all US forces within two years.

Dean made his comments in an interview on WOAI Radio in San Antonio.

"I've seen this before in my life. This is the same situation we had in Vietnam. Everybody then kept saying, 'just another year, just stay the course, we'll have a victory.' Well, we didn't have a victory, and this policy cost the lives of an additional 25,000 troops because we were too stubborn to recognize what was happening."

This is an example of what Dean spent his money raised on the Internet during his race for the nomination. Now he is using the same judgement to make strategic judgements on the war in Iraq. Yup, Howard , you have one of the greatest strategic minds since Napoleon! ( Nod, Nod. Wink, wink, Say no more!) DEANIACS UNITE! Dean is too stubborn to recognize that Bush is winning he war in Iraq by capturing the minds and hearts of Iraquis with democracy. Or in fact, more likely he does recognize that fact! Howard, get on you blimp, paint a big bull's eye on it, and fly it out over Al Ramahdi! Then just sit their preaching you bunk to the Iraqis. Take Murtha with you.

"I've seen this before in my life. This is the same situation we had in Vietnam."

The only resemblance between this and Vietnam is that the administration's internal enemies are doing their level best to undercut stateside support for the war, thus insuring defeat in the arena of public opinion, the only arena in which we *can* lose. At the beginning, the Dems were claiming that Iraq was just like Vietnam, although there were no discernable similarities. And then, for almost 3 years, the left and its minions have been doing all they can to create this similarity, so as to wind up "correct" after all. Unfortunately, they appear to be about 2/3 of the way there. It'll be their great legacy, on which they'll be judged harshly: defeat, cowardice, and ignominy, not to mention the betrayal and resulting re-enslavement of 25 million people who trusted us.

Well, Dean does know a thing or two about losing. Maybe he's just projecting.

Dean, Murtha, Kennedy and Pelosi all getting stuck in the "Exit Here" door trying to be the first to get through it!

Sad comment on Democrat patriotism.

For a Can-Do speech, this should be a paraphrase of JFK (bold indicates substitutions):

We choose to bring democracy to Iraq. We choose to bring democracy in Iraq in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win.

It is for these reasons that I regard the decision last year to shift our efforts from Afghanistan to Iraq and elsewhere as among the most important decisions that will be made during my incumbency in the office of the Presidency.

Starting to feel really good about 2006 with Dean going off the deepend. Really dumb to do with in San Antonio on WAOI -- used to listen to that station all the time when I lived in that area in the Hill Country -- not exactly a liberal station.

Dean is certifiable.

How many people died because of John kerry in Vietnam. Yes: we have seen this before and the shame is that same POS Kerry is leading the parade to get thousands more killed.

What is it about being a democrat that makes a person a pessimist?
My folks are OK Depression democrats. Every time someone comes up with an idea they immediately start in with why it won't ever work and the 'what ifs'.
Its really kinda disgusting and disheartening.

The Democrat Party is really becoming the party of Howard Dean and Michael Moore.

That's a good thing just so long as we can motivate our base and the moderates to the polls.

God help us if they win because we stayed home.

So who in the DNC's upper eschelons actually convinced Howlin Howie that this sicko act would really go over well in miltary-supporting San Antonio?. If anyone had died it would be a Darwin Award candidate act. The only conclusion one can reach is that KR has finally found a way to infiltrate the DNC itself.

The DEMOS should be very afraid.--- the Rovian Force may have gained entry into the very Portal of Evil.

You are right about that! I keep preaching on here how the grassroots need to get out and work in this next election to make sure those dingbats don't take over the House or Senate.

I have started confronting people on here that whine about Republicans and tell them to get out and work as part of the grassroots. If they spent more time working to elect good conservative candidates, we might have more.

We CHOSE to go after terrorists; we CHOSE to free the Afhgans and Iraqis from their leader's inhuman tortures. We were PRO-CHOICE in this war and will not abort THIS effort. So deal w/THAT, Dean.

Politics is all about grass roots. Little comments made to those you see go a long way. Just like my tagline...
