Charles gives US a parting shot
By Caroline Davies in San Francisco

San Francisco is the Prince of Wales's "kinda place". He loves its public transport, declaring yesterday: "I'm so glad you still have the wonderful evocative sounds of the trams."
That had not changed in the 29 years since the prince was last here, and made him "sad" that Britain had so few left.
He was, undoubtedly, thrilled when the mayor, Gavin Newsom, pointed out that his city had the best electrified public transport system in America and a fleet of 1,000 alternative fuel vehicles.
It is a city where "environment", "organic", "sustainable" - indeed all the buzz words that excite him - are common parlance.
The prince has many supporters here, so where best to deliver the most powerful speech of his tour than a seminar on "peak oil, climate change and business action"?
He pulled no punches, hardening a message he had hinted at during a banquet with President George W Bush at the White House last week.
He told a seminar at San Francisco's Ferry Building: "The environmental crisis we face is another situation in which I believe the United States could use its power and influence to help create a sense of unity in a common cause among disparate peoples and sectors of society."
An especially appreciative female member of the audience yelled: "Come and be our president."
The prince said: "We simply can't go on as we are. Somehow we have to find the courage to reassert the once commonplace belief that human beings have a duty to act as the stewards of creation."
Speaking at one of his final engagements before he and the Duchess of Cornwall return to Britain, the prince urged America to reshape its economy to help the environmental cause.
He ain't no human being.
At whose expense?
Prince Charles and San Francisco were made for each other. Maybe if the Queen passes over him as her successor, he could run for mayor.
No, just another out-of-touch (with reality) celebrity. Only he's particularly out of touch. Raised that way.
Hope he got to see some homeless bum take a dump on Market Street.
"San Francisco is the Prince of Wales's "kinda place""
Which parts did Chuck and the Dutchess of Cornhole like the best? The constant stench of urine in the streets? Ths hobos taking dumps on the sidewalk? The other gay dudes?
The future King is a Queen, which explains his political proclivities and his love of San Fagcisco.
lol!
No kidding!
What else does anyone expect from a "prince" who's never had a real job in his life?
Pompous pampered fop.
Shoulda been him in that car.......
I'm sure glad we fired his ancestor back in 1776.
Chuck=human parasite
The fact that it's universally understood that Prince Charles is dumber than a bag of hammers makes me feel good that he's delivering the far left's message.
My best friends are Welsh and I've gone back there to hang out in north Wales. The thing you hear most about the Prince of Wales is "he's not MY bloody prince!" ;)
