I'm not even a Christian and I won't pay money to watch Hollywood bash religion for two hours. Watching Hollywood try to fool Christians into thinking this is somehow NOT an error-filled affront to their beliefs is not my idea of fun.

Yea I know , and just when I was thinking what bright ,intelligent people we have here on FR.I read the book , ot's great fun .It's FICTION. Anyone with real faith wouldn't worry about it actually. My local pastor read it and loved it.Again, only a moron would think it's some sort of REAL statement about Catholics. Just because real names and places are used doesn't mean the author is trying to pass it off as reality.

Its just a freaking book/movie. I have a feeling Christianity is strong enough to sustain this 'attack'.

The author presents it as based on historical fact. Which it isn't. The historical inaccuracies will fool uninformed people who will assume that this movie is based on carefully-researched historical events that have been lied about and covered up by the Christian church for centuries. That's the problem with this distorted garbage. It's like Michael Moore's "documentary." It's a tissue of lies with a few facts thrown in. Dumb, gullible people are easily fooled.
Sadly, I know many, many Catholics in my parish and small town who can't wait to see it and have greedily devoured the book, commenting things like 'I knew it' and 'Finally, the truth has come out'. As you know, it's fiction and I tell them that...
Not dime one from me, either. And I will do my best to remind my Catholic friends that they shouldn't see it either.
