Beginning in the 2005-06 school year, teachers will receive training on black culture and customs... The pilot program at Rio Vista Elementary and King Middle schools focuses on second-, fourth- and seventh-grade classes. OMG, I was a teacher at Rio Vista for 6 years!!! They think that will help the students there?! How about discipline in the schools and caring parents at home!
Leave it to some idiot Cal. State leftist morons to come up with more screwed up ideas...unbelievable!

You sound more surprised than you should.
This is my favorite line:
"I'm afraid that now that we have this the Hispanic community, our largest population, will say, 'We want something for us.' Next we'll have the Asian community and the Jewish community (asking for their own programs). When will it end?'
Have I missed the noisy lobby of Jewish people demanding that Yiddish be taught in elementary schools?
I also find that the Asian community assimilates quite nicely by comparison. Something tells me they won't follow suit here, they're probably smart enough to see the positive correlation b/w assimilation and success in this country. They've done remarkably well without affirmative action handouts...who'da thunk it possible?
