Parents keep watch over dying Schiavo (MICHAEL DENIES TERRI FINAL COMMUNION)
Nevada Appeal / Associated Press ^ | March 27, 2005 | Mitch Stacy

Posted on 03/26/2005 10:56:04 PM PST by Deo volente

(Attorney)Weller said Terri cried when her mother hugged her Saturday night. "She knows what's going on. She was trying to vocalize something with Mary."

"The governor should know that Terri still knows who her mother is, and she's extremely distressed," Weller said. "She's not a vegetable who doesn't know what is happening."

Paul O'Donnell, a Roman Catholic Franciscan monk, said the family unsuccessfully urged Michael Schiavo to allow his wife the sacrament of communion during the holiest feast of the Catholic year. She received last rites the day the feeding tube was pulled.

"This is in violation of her religious rights and freedoms and allows the governor to ... intervene," O'Donnell said, repeating the family's request that the governor take Schiavo into protective custody. "We beg you to have courage and take action."

I can't believe she is still conscious after 8 days.

No...the last straw will be when Michael refuses Terri a Catholic funeral, has her body cremated and buried in Pennsylvania in the Shiavo family plot...away from HER family. Michael is Evil Incarnate.

He doesn't want the world to know that she can swallow.

Okay... so where are all the members of the "Michael Schiavo couldn't have been as bad as everyone says" club now?

Horrific.

I saw her family tonight, and we all prayed and sang hymns when they were inside with Terri.

What they are going through is beyond words, and beyond human strength and endurance.

They are out popping a beer laughing at us religious zealots who want to save a dying woman.

They're on other threads calling those of us who want to save Terri 'narrow-minded' and 'hateful'.

I am so heart sick over this. I keep thinking maybe a miracle will happen, and she will be rescued, but it doesn't seem likely. I wonder if she's too far gone to save now anyway. BTW, the news said they're giving her morphine now. I thought they said she couldn't feel any pain?? Like we need more proof that these people are all lying scumbags.

I'm not sure which is worse, the Greer/Felos/Schiavo axis of evil or their supporters who ridicule us while she lays dying.

I cannot comprehend either depth of depravity.

He is the epitome of a sociopath/psychopath.

I have a feeling that's exactly what he'll do. The last evidence of any abuse that occured would be Terri's body, a cremation puts Michael completely off the hook.

I can't believe she is still conscious after 8 days.

Does she sound like a woman with no will to live? Not only the last 8 days, but the last 15 years.
