Top CNN exec resigning over Davos remarks By Carolyn Pritchard CBS MarketWatch Last Updated: 6:40 PM ET Feb 11, 2005 SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- CNN's top news executive, Eason Jordan, said Friday he's resigning amid controversy over his assertion that journalists were targeted and killed by coaltion forces in Iraq. "After 23 years at CNN, I have decided to resign in an effort to prevent CNN from being unfairly tarnished by the controversy over conflicting accounts of my recent remarks regarding the alarming number of journalists killed in Iraq," he said in a note to CNN staff. The accounts were only conflicting because he and his minions had been spending enormous amounts of effort to muddy the waters, threatening anyone who told the truth, refusing to allow transcripts to be released, etc.
He made outrageous charges without any evidence whatsoever. He is a fool. End of discussion on that point.

there have not been an exceptional number of journalists killed in this conflict compared to any other where Journalists have been allowed to roam freely, totally controlling their own travel. It's a war zone. What part of that doesn't he understand?
What has been alarming is how many "journalists" just happened to show up at exactly the right time to record terrorist attacks on coalition forces. Perhaps we should have a tiny little bit of coverage of CNN and AFP cooperating with terrorists to set up attacks on coalition forces, hmmmmmmm?
