A lot of us are interested in archeology and greatly appreciate Blam's efforts. If you don't like it don't read it.

Iranians are ethnic Persians, while 22 surrounding nations are Arabs. The Iranian people are some of the most pro-US in the world. The Persian Empire was controlled the world for hundreds of years. Modern day Iranians arehting for freedom and democracy against a fundamenalist Islamist regime.

You should care about the difference between Persians and Arabs.

There's a huge one.

Calling everything you don't like some kind of undesirable "tendency" is a Bolshevik tendency.

Your advice to Blam:
Get a hobby. Buy a dog. Take a hike.

A quick scan of Blam's "About Page" indicates he has already done all these.

"The Persian Gulf was completely dry during the Ice Age...as was the Red Sea."

====================================================================

Did not the conjoined Euphrates and Tigris run down the middle of what is now the Gulf and empty into the open sea at Hormuz?

That should make one bigass verdant valley and be conducive to farming and civilization building. 'Course I wonder if that's where the Garden of Eden was.

{I need to go fish out my maps.}

""The Persian Gulf was completely dry during the Ice Age...as was the Red Sea.""

Correction, maybe. I just read in Stephen Oppenheimer's book, Out Of Eden, last night that the Red Sea probably didn't completely dry up. (I still expect it did though.)

"Did not the conjoined Euphrates and Tigris run down the middle of what is now the Gulf and empty into the open sea at Hormuz?"

I've read that the Nile and Euphrates valleys looked like the Grand Canyon during the Ice Age due to the reduced level of the oceans, 300-500ft.

Now, after the Ice Age, Abraham lived in the seaside town of Ur...today Ur is about 100 miles inland.

MEDIC!

Who Knew? This is ostensibly a quasi-conservative forum. Archeology?!! Nice gentlemanly folks sharing POVs in an amicable online setting. (A pipe dream!)
I stumble in with a righteous "chip on the shoulder" aiming for revisionist hacks and obsfucators aiding the World Terrorist's cause and "go off". ( A real Peter Sellers scenario!) You gentle guys "Kill me with kindness". My apology. Greetings and blessings.
