perhaps indicate there is some non-stellar process that can produce large amounts of dust

What is the dust made of? Silicates? Ordinary stars can do this. All the way up to iron such as what makes up a good part of the earth.

-the answer to this and solution to many other contradictions and mysteries is self-evident.

Time is not independent of the observer and it closed -expanding only relatively by observance in infinite division only.

I ask this question myself here at home, "How could this
much dust have formed so quickly?" Does this make me
brilliant?

I guess the Intelligent Designer forgot to change the filters before he flipped the switch and started the Big Bang.

Or the Intelligent Saboteur snuck in... (grin)

Not merely brilliant...Positively stellar!

[Full Disclosure: All puns in this post intentional.]

"The Big Bang Never Happened" by Eric J. Lerner sheds cosmic light on this topic. Lerner systematically critiques the current leading theory of the origins of the universe. It is a critique of the methodology, and of the underlying agenda and bias that undermines good science when it comes to this central tenet of orthodox science. While presenting his ideas to a symposium attended by leading astronomers, astrophysicists, and cosmologists, he began by surveying how many of them firmly believed Big Bang to be true. All but one said that they did. Upon completing his presentation, he again surveyed the attendees, and found that all but one now seriously doubted the validity of Big Bang. After reading Lerner's book, I consider myself among the serious doubter crowd. Has anyone else read this book?

"I guess the Intelligent Designer forgot to change the filters before he flipped the switch and started the Big Bang."

There's a line from Amadaeus where the king criticizes Mozart for having too many notes, and Mozart responds, "It has just as many notes as I require."

I suggest that there is neither too little or too much dust in the universe. There is exactly as much as God requires.

I've read it and found many of his premises faulty. Unfortunately, it's been years since I've read it, so I don't remember the problems in his arguments.

FWIW, the astronomical time scales have nothing to do with evolution. It's all based on geometry and the speed of light. We can measure the distance to the nearby stars (~500 light years away or so) via parallax. Beyond that, we can use the period-luminosity relation of variable stars to measure out to a few million light years. After that, redshifts are involved and things get a little wonky.

As a footnote to our cordial discussion on this topic: what we are discussing is not an essential for belief.

Isa 40:22 [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

This passage allows for the possibility that God stretched out space, including the light, instantaneously. I think this explains the vastness of space, while holding to the fact that Christ clearly says that Adam & Eve were created as full grown adults at the beginning of our universe, which includes space and time.

You will also notice in the Isa 40:22 passage, God has always known the earth is a sphere.

Job 26:7 ... [and] hangeth the earth upon nothing.

Newton seemed to find much science in the Word of God.

Ecc 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea [is] not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

Here is a good link to get started with.

Sorry, I gave you a link, in my prior post, that I have been reading up on to try and understand the "Old universe from a Christian perspective".

Here is the link that I meant to direct you too.

I think I know what you mean. His alternatives are highly speculative. What I found interesting was his exposure of the orthodox scientific dogma about Big Bang. This much I found to be extremely compelling. I do not totally dismiss Big Bang, but that only by allowing for extremely low probability, and the embellishments of corrupted science.

It's funny you mention the Isaiah passage, because current cosmology actually thinks such a rapid "inflation" occured shortly after the big bang. Heck, for that matter, "Let there be light" can be traced back to the 3 degree microwave background. Who would have guessed that the beginning of the universe would have been filled with light?

We can measure the distance to the nearby stars (~500 light years away or so) via parallax.

My main point is that considering relativity, our current measurements are inaccurate whether we use a big bang model or six day Creation model. Someone who can hurl galaxies clocked at 200,000 miles per hour, would have little difficulty stretching a universe full of light waves across a few million light years of space, instantaneously.

By implication, the Creator thought up the physical laws we are dealing with, so nothing can be considered outside of His capacity. This is where faith and personal experience with the Creator make all of the difference.

His higher authority has been placed at the feet of the witnesses to His resurrection, as well as the accuracy of prophecy from His stated message to mankind. Being that He claims to "inhabit eternity", our time domain is fully at His control. His eternal moment allowing Him to view the parade from above, while we are relegated to the curb, only able to view one float at a time.

Einstein's theories of relativity have opened a host of linear/non-linear possibilities. Consider Christ's entry and exit of the upper room after His resurrection. Our personal restrictions are demonstrably not His. Supernatural phenomenon become somewhat more comprehensible.
