To The Citizens Of Free Republic:
We will never ever forget your support and help. Your threads not only encouraged us but kept the truth alive in a period when Big Media sought to suppress the story. Your e-mails and phone calls to Big Media at least shamed them. The thousands of contributions we got from you helped us to organize our website, produce our earliest ads, and keep the light flickering in the darkest of times. The English at Agincourt would have executed Kerry for meeting with the enemy and betraying them. In contrast, we found a true band of brothers who stood with us and supported us. Thank you. We will never forget it.
John O'Neill

We owe you a debt Mr. O'Neil because you and the other Swift Boat Vets knew full well the truth about the traitor John Kerry and you would not let the main-stream media gloss over the truth of history regarding this loathsome presidential candidate or neglect it completely.
Thank you for standing tall all of those years from 1970 to today, President Bush (though for political reasons you will never hear him say it) and the nation owe you a debt of gratitude and I for one, thank you for coming to the defense of countless thousands of Vietnam Vets who have been besmirched by John Kerry.
The good news is John Kerry is not, nor will he ever be President or "Commander and Chief" because of you and the efforts of the Swift Boat Veterans. God bless you and those whom you have so faithfully represented.
John O'Neill and his fellow Swift Boat Vets had better enjoy their White House dinner. They surely deserve it, heroes all...again! Have a drink on us when you're there.
Thank you and yours Mr O'Neill, for all you've done for this country!
John,
Early this year I saw a rerun of the Cavette debate between you and Kerry.
I sent you and email urging you to challenge Kerry to a new debate.
You were kind enough to answer my email and inform me that you already had plans in the works.
And plans you had! What a great success! You and all the swiftvets deserve a lot of the credit for Bush's victory. Kerry was unable to sell himself as a "war hero". He wasn't really even able to talk about it very much.
Because Those Who Knew The Truth were out there telling the truth.
And the truth about Kerry in Vietnam was ugly. So Kerry shied away from his "war hero status".
You guys did great!
Thank you, thank you!
I feel elated that it was Viet Nam Veterans that put the light of day on this lie.
Thank you SBV's

Thank you John, and all the Swiftees, for serving one last tour.
America's finest!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! THANK YOU JOHN AND ALL THE SWIFTIES!
John and the Swifties,
Honored to help - the thanks goes to all of you!
It would be great if someone could photoshop a picture of John O'Neill as Man of the Year on Time Magazine.
Dear John O'Neil and Your Fellow Swifties,THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless you John O'Neill and all the Swiftboat Vets! We can never thank you enough for standing in the gap once again when America needed you most. I am honored beyond words to have been able to meet many of the Swiftboat Vets when they were in Orlando in October, just before the election. They were all gracious enough to give me their autographs in my copy of the book, Unfit For Command. I hope to be able to get more autographs in that book someday.
My brother, who is also a Vietnam Vet, had been following the efforts of the Swiftboat Vets very closely during the presidential campaign. He was a supporter and a contributer. He also has the book. I sent him a copy of this thread and he loved it. Here are his comments:
"All great comments in this thread. There were many heros in this election. The courage the Swiftboat crews demonstrated was extraordinary. The MSM was unable to peel off even one member of this band of patriots. They stood their ground in the face of overwhelming fire from the MSM and never flinched! Free Republic provided them with the support needed to stay in the fight to the bitter end. God bless them all!! " ~ Jim
Many of you will also be interested in some of what he wrote in the summer of 2004 - to do his bit to warn as many people as he could before the election about his first-hand experience with traitorous mentaliies like Kerry and those in the MSM. He wrote [excerpted]:
"I am a Vietnam and Gulf War veteran. I retired after serving 28 years in the Infantry as a Sergeant Major. I saw what the liberal media can do, and feel a need to warn everyone of the dangers.
Let me talk about Vietnam first. I was in the same unit that General Tommy Franks was in (he was a Lt. then ).
In his book "American Soldier" , one of his chapters is titled " The Crucible ". That chapter describes many of his personal experiences while assigned to my unit, the 5TH BN 60TH Infantry (Mech), 9TH Inf. Div.
He was a forward artillery observer and I was the platoon sergeant of 3rd plt. Aco. I was involved in most of the battles and other actions he writes about in this chapter, and more.
Here is why I mention this; Even though I was involved in some of the most bitter and heavy fighting of the war (67-68 ), I can truthfully say, I never saw anyone in my unit commit war crimes and I personally never did anything I was ashamed of.
Were war crimes committed over there?, you bet! I contend, there has never been a war where this hasn't happened. To think otherwise, would really be naive! War is an insane enviroment of hell, of kill and be killed, and emotions run very high. Even highly disciplined soldiers can "lose it" and allow their emotions to rule ,after seeing atrocities committed on their friends and commrades.
HERE'S WHAT REALLY GETS ME! Every enemy this country has ever fought, has committed far worse atrocities on our soldiers than we ever have, but who does the world and our own press usually make out to be the big villain?, us!
This blame America first sh*t, has to stop!
I can tell you from first hand experience, that no army in the world is more honerable than ours. To suggest otherwise, just isn't true. In fact, far too often we place our soldiers lives at risk to avoid civilian casualties.
When I was in vietnam, the enemy routinely committed atrocities against us and the civilian population. The media tended to ignore this as a story, preferring to focus on the slightest infractions made by U.S. units, or our allies!
When I returned from Vietnam, it was hard for me to believe the perception that people had of the war.
My unit had won every major battle we fought! Back here we were losing.
During Tet Offensive 1968, my unit along with many others, so decimated the viet cong units, as to render them combat ineffective for months to come. Walter Cronkite, the great tactician he was, reported this as a sign we were losing the war!
Believe me, we weren't losing the war; I was there! No matter what they try to tell you; we didn't lose the war, they did!
I've hated the media ever since!
This country left me full of shame as an American, the way we abandoned our friends and allies to the communists over there.
Even worse, we sacrificed 58,000 lives of Americas best for nothing!
I believe it was at this time, that the media first started to become the dangerous enity it is today. I also believe, that most of the American people who were influenced by the media propaganda back then, don't even realize they were to this day!
The proof of this to me, is in the way most of them still repeat the media conception of the war, even after newer evidence and revelations show clearly how the enemy was close to defeat after Tet 68 etc.
No doubt, we could never win the war over there untill we would make a real committment to do so, but believe me, we could have if the U.S.. wanted to bad enough. Regardless, here we are now, and the media is at it again!
They're filling the airways with their lies and propaganda! Soldiers returning from Iraq are saying that the ground truth in Iraq is sure different than what they see on the news back here. No one should be surprised, but you should be alarmed and angry!
I beg each and everyone of you, please don't allow the same thing that happened to me, to happen to these fine soldiers and their families.
TELL THIS EVIL MEDIA, YOU AREN'T GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE, AS THEY SHAMEFULLY GO ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS OF GETTING KERRY ELECTED. TELL THEM,YOU NO LONGER WILL TOLERATE ALWAYS PUTTING THE BLAME ON AMERICA FIRST! TELL THEM,TO GET OFF OUR TROOPS CASE AND ALLOW THEM TO WIN THIS WAR. OH YEAH, ONE OTHER THING; COWBOY UP, AND VOTE FOR BUSH!" JIM...The Sergeant Major
