As far as I can tell, they have troops in afghanistan and are giving support to the coalition in Iraq. I don't know that the Dutch have ever buried thier heads in the sand in the first place. Of all of the countries I have visited, I believe they may be the only country that values freedom as much as the USA. They are not hawkish, but they are free, and certainly less likely to bow to the will of the EU.
I agree, the Dutch had a strong resistance movement during WWII and I'm sure they're starting to take back their country.
