While I take their word that CNN itself had nothing to do with this (it would be moronic for them to do that), it's disengenuous for them to totally disassociate themselves with Netscape. They are sister companies. AOL bought Netscape before AOL and Time Warner (CNN's parent) merged.

Exactly. I received a reply to my e-mail from the AOL/TW investor relations folks earlier today which disavowed Netscape's shenanigans as though it were some non-related company they weren't responsible for - it's in the AOL/Time Warner/CNN corporate group, for heaven's sake, but they're acting like they never heard of 'em before, LOL!

well said. Additionally, since CNN had to edit the URL into its article, whomever works at the CNN website was aware of the problem, and should also be canned like dolphin meat.
