Michelle Maulkin was awsome at first, saying that Matthews "interrogated" civilians. Her reminding Chris that it was AL Gore who brought up the topic of Willie Horton in '92 really got Chris sputtering.

Michelle said the some of Kerry's Purple Hearts may have come from "self-inflicted" wounds. She did NOT say "on purpose." Chris Matthews tried to railroad her into saying that Kerry had wounded himself "on purpose". Michelle seemed unsure. I was praying for her not to say it. She didn't, but Chris acted like she did anyway. He is really disgusting.

John Kerry never shot himself. He did stupid things, like throwing a concussion grenade into a pile of rice, and suffered schrapnel-like injury when when the rice kernels were imbedded in his flesh. A similar act, firing an RPG upon a rock, resulted in a fragment ricocheting back at him and breaking the skin. Neither of those two wounds were as a result of enemy fire. So by this standard, these wounds were "self-inflicted".

Shooting yourself would hurt like hell. It would be like falling on your own grenade after you dropped it. Ask Max Cleland.

I have found the perfect comeback for people when they say, "President Bush didn't serve in Viet Nam." I have to give credit to the caller on this afternoon's Sean Hannity radio show. He's the one who reminded us all where Pres. Bush's Dad was at the time.
