I don't think dumping Cheney would help W win. It would look desperate.

It sounds to me like the inside Washington critters are afraid Cheney is going to wipe the floor with Edwards. I smell fear.

Cheney's great, a rare honest stand-up guy in Washington who ain't afraid to tell it like it is. I agree, but the left has succeeded in demonizing him like none other since Nixon, and with much less justification.

Yeah, dump Dick Cheney and get very own pretty boy trial lawyer to run for veep. The Breck girl didn't give the RATS any added traction so what's the answer? They'll try to drag Dick Cheney down.

Seems like everyone in the media has a thing for this "dump Cheney" movement. Yep, they want him to get somebody as lovable and cuddley as Edwards. Kerry may feel more conforted having gotten himself a new puppy, Bush on the other hand doesn't want an empty suit in the number 2 slot. The 'dump Cheney' crowd can go pound sand.

Cheney's personal negatives are off the chart. He needs to feign some health problem and drop out. You and I usually agree, but you're as wrong as you've ever been here.
Bush would get crucified if Cheney left the ticket.
I don't see a problem with Cheney, especially when he chews up and spits out the Silky Pony in the debates.
Edwards is a lightweight on policy and nobody, but nobody, beats Cheney on policy.

THE KNIVES ARE OUT FOR CHENEY!! THE LIBERALS ARE SCARED CRAPLESS OF CHENEY THAT'S WHY THEY'RE PRESSURING BUSH TO DUMP HIM.

Sabato is a "F"ing idiot. He's trying to be the darling of the Charlottesville (UVA) liberal academia crowd

I'm sure GW is giving all of the "ya gotta dump Cheney" advice from the elitists and the media all of the attention that it is due. Right where the idea belongs.
To: Kaslin
Sabato is WRONG. Cheney is a great asset to the ticket.
My mom is a screaming liberal who lives in L.A., and the ONE thing she likes about President Bush is Dick Cheney, she says he "is intelligent and professional."
To: ambrose
charm and charisma usually wins TV debatesNow I know you're drinking. Cheney destroyed Lieberman in 2000. Thoroughly sliced, diced and pickled to boot. With humor, facts and a command of the issues that Lieberman, a smart guy, was overwhelmed with.
And I'll tell you something else, he'll do the same to Edwards and it will be easier. Even a kind and gentle Russert had Edwards looking like a lost and wet hound dog on MTP with relatively easy questioning.

I think it works in reverse on this one ...The more they hit Cheney and Bush with all this BS the more they come out on top..............The thing Cheney has excelled at is getting things done in a place where you aren't supposed to....and yes the hell with perceptions.(Could be a result of coming to grips with his own mortality)

He is 100% right. It is too bad people would rather remain in denial than do what is necessary to win. It's still a very bad idea and necessary only to those whose focus is more on playing politics than on character and substance.

I can't wait to see Cheney slice and dice Edwards...that dead pan delivery will tie him up!
To: jwalsh07
Watch how wrong he is when Cheney slices and dices the ambulance chaser in the debates. That is the first thought i had when it was confirmed that Edwards was the one, almost verbatim. Cheney will eat him and spit a hairball out.

This guy is a nut case. As I conservative I could pretend I was a dem and write a better piece trashing Cheney than this. It doesn't make any sense. A VP is supposed to be a Kissinger? LOL! Cheney is the best VP I have seen. Even better than Spiro T. Agnew. ;-)
