Eliminate some departments, phase out the income tax and phase in a NRST or something similar.

Bush and Co have increased spending on PBS and NPR and the National Endowment for the Arts. You really think there is a chance in the world this party would abolish a department without transfering it all into another?? and it would cost taxpayers billions of extra dollars, of course.

Not this party, today, right now. However, I don't see the Libertarian or Constitution party winning anything. The only way to make it work is for Conservatives to take back the GOP. Or--alternately, one of the "third" parties could displace it. There have never been more than 2 parties dominant in the US. There are good guys out there.

So, for 2008. Forget Giuliani, forget Condi Rice. We need another Reagan, but someone who makes the Gipper almost look liberal. Anyone know who that could be? Someone with Reagan's appeal, optimism, and conservatism, but can do more to shrink gov't (I think Reagan did what he could do at the time).
