Thousands of Iranians Ready For Suicide Raids (Vow To Murdering American, "Zionist" Non-Combatants)

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Thousands of Iranians have signed up for suicide attacks on Israel, U.S.-led forces in Iraq and British author Salman Rushdie, a recruiting group said on Saturday.

Shi'ite Iran has strongly condemned the occupation of Iraq and voiced its outrage at damage to shrines in the holy cities of Najaf and Kerbala.

The father of Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, condemned Rushdie to death in 1989 for alleged blasphemy in his novel "The Satanic Verses".

"Some 10,000 people have registered their names to carry out martyrdom operations on our defined targets," said Mohammad Ali Samadi, a spokesman for the Committee for the Commemoration of Martyrs of the Global Islamic Campaign.

But he said the group would need the green light from Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to launch the attacks.

The independent group said it started to register Iranian men and women prepared to carry out the attacks after Friday prayers last week and sent forms to religious universities.

"Our targets are mainly the occupying American and British forces in the holy Iraqi cities, all the Zionists in Palestine, and Salman Rushdie," he said.

"It is not our fault that the Zionists have brought their wives and children to the occupied territories and have turned them into shields for themselves," he added, when asked about the killing of civilians.

"Salman Rushdie is the only non-military target for us, because we believe his attack against Islam was much worse that a military assault," the spokesman said.

Hardline cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati urged worshippers at Friday prayers in Tehran to attack U.S. and British interests.

"It is the duty of every Muslim to threaten U.S. and British interests anywhere," he said.

Although Iran's reformist President Mohammad Khatami said in 2001 the death sentence against Rushdie should be seen as lifted, hardliners still occasionally call for his murder.

"Most Iranians are Pro-Bush, Pro-America."

Which is why I have a hard time understanding some of the posters on this thread.

Yes, and most cancers are benign.

If indeed "most Iranians are Pro-Bush, Pro-America," then why the hell are they standing around doing nothing like a bunch of cowards?

Got news for ya -- much like cells of cancerous tumors, the "good" tissue will also get removed if necessary.

Ultimately, there will be no other way.

Arab is as general as Asian. The Iranians are of Persian descent. The Iraqis are of Babylonian descent. If it weren't for the fact that they'd (the muslims) would like to kill everyone who isn't one of them, us especially, they'd be killing each other. We are the common enemy the clerics and the governments use so the unwashed masses don't see how corrupt those same clerics and government are.

"Iranians aren't Arabs" The problem is that the mullahs are. Ayatollah Khomeini brought them in with his revolution. The Iranian people are living their lives tolerating the regime. They "party on" behind closed doors.

This thread has, unfortunately, brought out the worst in people.

The facts are, according to intelligent, notable, mideast author/historians the Persian people are among the most pro-American people on this planet aside from Americans themselves. For the people here who don't believe that, provide proof to the contrary or keep the insults and hate-talk to yourself. Just makes you look like an idiot.

Here's something rather interesting : Yahoo and Google searches on Mohammad Ali Samadi and on The Committee for the Commemoration of Martyrs of the Global Islamic Campaign come up blank.

Persians are from Indo-European descent. You can tell Persians from Arabs by looking at them.

The idea that every muslim wants to kill every one who isn't, is not only mistaken, it's ludicrous.

Yes, the radical clerics try to foment hatred of Americans (and so do the French). And part of the reason they do is probably as you said, to hide their own corruptness.

"Seyed Ali Khamenei was born in Mashhad, Khorasan province of Iran, in 1939."

You are correct that some of the mullahs are not Iranian.

Yes, the Iranian people have tolerated the murderous regime in order to survive. But they've rebelled more and more and have effected some change within the country.
Not sure who you're referring to who "party on". The regime, yes they are. Though Bush has them nervous.

Mohammad Ali Samadi is more likely >Mohammad Yasser Samadi
[see this article........very revealing...>>>]

TEHRAN, May 28 (AFP) -

Hundreds of Iranian men and women, even children, declared their willingness to carry out suicide attacks in Iraq and Israel following weekly Friday prayers in Tehran, an AFP correspondent said.

The "volunteers" signed their names and gave their telephone numbers to an obscure group calling itself the Committee for the Commemoration of Martyrs of the World Islamic Movement.

A spokesman, Mohammad Yasser Samadi, told AFP the action was to "show our friends in Iraq and all other Muslims that we are ready to give our lives to defend our honor and Islam's.

"Suicide operations are the best way to fight the oppressors and they have already shown their worth in Lebanon and during the war between Iran and Iraq," he said, referring to the neighbours' bloody 1980-88 conflict.

***However, there was no evidence the action was anything more than symbolic, and Samadi said they would renounce suicide operations if asked to by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The group announced earlier this month it had begun recruiting potential suicide bombers for Iraq in the wake of serious clashes between US-led coalition forces and the militia of radical cleric Moqtada Sadr around the Shiite Muslim holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.

The question in my mind is: Is this dis-information by one of the opposition people, who hopes we'll come invade Iran for him, or is it real ?

One thing I do worry about is the Iranians coming in-like the Chinese did in Korea-and killing a LOT of our people before we turn Tehran into a black glass lake.

No. I don't believe so. This kind of talk has been coming directly from the regime over the past 2 weeks, especially.
They've been making threatening remarks to U.S. and several other countries, including some in the mideast.

I don't think the regime could ever muster the number of fighters you fear coming into Iraq from Iran. The Iranian people won't die for that, they won't die for the regime.

excellant points...may i add that our military is somewhat busy at the present but we can muster up a few FReeper moms to handle this mass invasion should the need arise.

The fact that you don't even know that Iranians aren't Arabs shows how little you know about Iran.

So, perhaps, you should do a little more listening to people like NuConvert and F14pilot and a little less talking.

When someone doesn't know about a topic they should listen.
