COMING IN JUNE - Heir To An Execution: A Granddaughter's Story Premieres Monday, June 14th at 8pm ET/PT
Chronicles the efforts of filmmaker Ivy Meeropol to come to terms with the lives and deaths of her father's parents, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed as traitors after being convicted of providing atom bomb secrets to the Soviet Union.
I just saw the promo. for this, full of aging Commies saying things like "they were nice people","just like you and me"and "witch-hunt.
Looks like another attempt to rehabilitate these two traitors.
You think that makes you ill, did you ever hear what Oliver Stone called him after making that documentary? "A compassionate man, a brilliant man." They`re nuts these libs. There`s a webpage that has a list of all the Hollywood nuts who over the years have gone to pay homage to Castro, Jack Nicholson calling him a genius, Kevin Costner calling him "President" Castro, Carly Simon actually going down there to sing "You got a friend" to him, Jesse Jackson saying "Castro is the most honest, courageous politician I have ever met," Danny Glover, all the liberals you can imagine in Hollywood have paid homage to this mutt, yet not one of them will live there will they? They lick the boot heels of a guy who kills people for trying to escape his prison of a country, who jails journalists for up to 80 years if he doesn`t like what they say about him, yet Bush is the one who gets cursed out constantly by Hollywood. Why? Because Bush is for freedom and Hollywood hates freedom for others. Hollywood only wants people beneath them, enslaved serving them because they feel they are royalty.
--when did the truth ever matter with these people.--
That's always the bottom line with liberals- truth, facts, logoic, all mean nothing. Only their agenda matters.
All of this is also confirmed with your references and others in Ann Coulter's book, "Treason." Ann's book also confirms there were a large number of proven soviet spies working in the FDR and Truman administrations. That book and its accompanying footnotes has changed my whole view of the history of the 20th century...bearing in mind that my view was largely shaped by the public school system and the media of the 60s and 70s.
Naturally, old sentiments die hard. One of the most egregious examples is one in which a 103 year old man who was a union comrade of Julius Rosenberg noted his admiration for the traitors because they went to the electric chair rather than refusing to give up names of their communist associates. That, he said, allowed the film-maker's granddaughter to have been standing there today, rather than never been born because her grandparents were serving life sentences in Federal prison. The old man's remarks were made to the mellow sounds of a classical 12-string guitar to elicit head-nodding sympathy from the dumber viewers.
What was going through my mind was the question "Yes, and the transfer of atomic secrets to the Soviets by the Rosenbergs emboldened the USSR to enslave a significant portion of the world under the protection of Kruschev's threat of nuclear holocaust. How many people do you think aren't alive today because of that historical fact? I bet they're not necessarily pretty blonde Americans like the grandaughter of the traitors you so claim to admire."
One good thing did come from this HBO documentary: At least now I know what cemetary the Rosenbergs lie in, should I ever want to relieve my bladder the next time I'm in the New York state area.
