"And so it begins..."
...the beginning of a return to some semblence of decency in America.
It's about time.

Don't worry you big baby, Mama Gubmit will protect you from the bad man on the radio. That big old radio was too confusing to operate, so I know how hard it was for you to find the OFF button..
Just don't bitch when Mama Gubmint takes off Rush, pro-wrestling, and gospel because your neighbor needed protecting from "offensive" broadcasting too.
I'm sure Michael Powell has some real entertaining broadcasting ahead. Maybe he'll even let Ashcroft sing to us. If we're good.

...the beginning of a return to some semblence of decency in America. Be careful what you wish for. A lot of liberals have been successful in tarring conservative speech with the "hate" brush and and in claiming it's offensive. The way things are going (and evidently you think it's a good thing), conservative voices will soon be silenced under the same rules used to silence Stern.

...the beginning of a return to some semblence of decency in America. The return of the League of Decency. A government shutting down speech and some Americans cheer. Some people don't understand what they might be giving up until they lose it.
Imagine the following scenario:
Kerry wins the next election, changes the personnel of the FCC and they start putting pressure on Rush's bosses to get him off the air. You'd howl like a stuck pig.

this tide of censorship will be good for the country as long as conservatives stay in power, but once the touchy feely pc crowd gets an election win, then the tables will be turned and anyone criticizing homosexuals or abortion will get zapped. At least its a step in the RIGHT direction.
Question is, do we protect the first amendment or not. Remember decency is to be decided by the local community, at least that is what the SC says.
Hell Ill take my chances. Stern has been getting away with crap for 20 years. What say you?
