Nope, she is calling this a LAW. You would be required to use it by the sound of it. Enforcement? Sounds mostly like Point of Sale kinda thing, but I'd be willing to bet they would want a penalty for non-comppliance when they stumble on it.

She wants the 'gold standard' of the CPSC. Yeah, a bunch of bureaucrats chosen by the next Lib president who decide that all locks are defective.

Didn't the gov of Maryland have a little press conference to show how easy it was to put a lock on, and how easy to take off... they were. That they needed a LOCKSMITH to get the damn thing back off again?
Oh crap... she just brought up the "child killed every three hours" lie...

Sounds mostly like Point of Sale kinda thingshe also said "or require them to be built into the gun"
To: looscnnn
"Wouldn't that be unconstitutional, it would mean that they are not equal to others."
The proper term is 'more equal'

There's two things I need to read in the details.
1. Requirement to USE?
2. What KIND of locks(Built in/Mag disconnect?)
If so, I oppose the whole bill. If not, it sucks, but I'll compromise here.
And Boxer is spewing that 25 times horse@#^$ again.

She must have been out drinking with Teddy last night. She can barely get her sentances out coherently.

I hear this Boxer thing wants to ban all sale, used or new guns, without an integral safety device. Any sale would give a $15k fine.
This is a ban on virtually every gun made.

That still freaks me out. I was in the Marines with a guy from Maryland named "Paris Glendenning". Not the same guy, but still damn freaky...

Maybe the PARENTS should explain what kind of damage guns do and what they are used for AND GUNS ARE NOT TOYS!

"wants to ban all sale, used or new guns, without an integral safety device"
Well, isn't that what a safety is? If it does not specify lock, a safety should suffice. Old guns without safeties can either be retrofitted or could be grandfathered.

Screw this beyotch. We NEVER touched my fathers guns without his permission. All we had to do was ask. No curiosity factor when your Dad will supervise you while handling it and teaching you how to do so safely.
NOT LOCKING THEM UP AND MAKING THEM USELESS!!!!! GAHHH!@!!

What a let down. I expected someone of greater calibur, no pun intended.
She can't even make proper sentences.
