Police Detain Two Passengers on Dominican-Bound Flight After Suspicious Behavior

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic Jan. 5 — Two Canadian men were detained for suspected links to terrorism after acting strangely aboard a flight from France to the Dominican Republic, authorities said Monday.

The two were detained after Air Europa Flight 89 landed in Santo Domingo Sunday night, said Gen. Fernando Cruz Mendez, director of national Investigations. They have not been charged and authorities did not find any weapons, Cruz said.

"They acted very nervous on board," he said. "They went in and out of the bathrooms, including a few times together."

He did not say why Dominican authorities suspected the men had possible links to terrorist activities.

The flight's crew reported the behavior to Dominican authorities who were waiting for the plane when it landed at Las Americas International Airport in the capital. The men will be detained until authorities complete their investigation, Cruz said.

Air Europe's manager in Santo Domingo, Margarita Falla, declined comment on the incident.

The two had never been to the Dominican Republic before and were carrying small carry-on bags, authorities said. Santo Domingo was their final destination, Cruz said.

Oh yeah, Woods encounter about a week before 9/11 (on a Boston to LA Flight) was real. The FBI interviewed him about it according to Woods who talked about it on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Hmmm. A Saudi guy was arrested just this morning in Boston after authorities discovered three firecrackers in his carry on that he first claimed were "crayons."

Osama (or someone who sounds like him) recently released a tape--usually a precurser to terrorist activity.

I don't think this is a "series" and "hugh" coinky dink. Something is up, IMHO.

Yes. James Woods was on FNC a few times after 9/11 telling of a similar incident on a flight he was on.

He called the FBI and they called him back. He said where are you and they said "outside" meaning right outside his apartment where they took his statement.

He believes one of the 9/11 hijackers (I forget which one) was the person he observed acting strangely.

I wouldn't be surprised if AQ has a don't ask/don't tell policy with gays.
