This is smart strategically. If N Korea launches a missile then the Australian radar picks it up and the Pacific island launch destroys it before it reaches California.
Won't help Japan though.

John Howard is going to take a lot of crapola over this from the "we'd rather be killed than aligned with America" crowd down under.

Their media might be even more biased and sillier than ours.

Australia has a HUGE stake in Asia. They LIVE in Asia.

Someone might not want to nuke Sydney, but if someone nukes Japan-or anyone else in Asia-Australia is definately going to feel it.
