This is the problem I am arguing about on other similar threads. The people making these protests do not represent Trump supporters, definitely do not represent Trump. But, unfortunately, it is all too easy to associate the two. Worse, like here on FR, where there are people defending the Confederate flag and it’s violent history against Americans, it only confirms what the mayor of Charlottesville and other people claim. The reality is that you cannot separate the violent history of the confederate flag and what it stands for, both today and yesterday, from the cultural values of the South. Cherish your culture and history, but put the flag away please. Do not fly it anymore than one would fly the Nazi or Islamic flag.

The Confederate flag should not be flown you say, well how about the atrocities the stars and stripes flew over with the natives.
I have no problem with either flag, but if you are going to pick out one flag for a liberal reason then the same reason can be used about the American flag,,
Disagree vehemently. Let them call us whatever they will. If they want us to be “racist”, fine, “If this be Racism, make the most of it”. We simply have to do what has to be done. If we can be deterred by calling us names just how serious are we?
It’s sick and absurd, comparing a southern flag to a NAZI flag.
Oh, sure, if you operated in Digital land of 1s and 0s, but in Analog land of reality, there are varying gradations and judgement calls might show it’s not nearly as bad as made out.
I fly it daily. You don't have to like it. Frankly, I don't give a damn.
