I admit I have never been there, but just looking on the internet, they have a republican governor, a majority in the state senate, and in the 151 seat house, they are behind by 9 seats. Seems very winnable in 2018.

The Second Congressional district was won by Trump, and gave him one electoral vote because Maine splits it’s electoral votes. Hillary won CD 1 and the statewide vote by 2.7% which netted her two more electoral votes in addition to the one electoral vote she received by winning CD 1.
The First Congressional district in southern Maine is 20% of the state but is more populated than the rest of the state of Maine. Portland in southern Maine is a liberal area.
