Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Thursday it would be an outrage if President-elect Donald Trump followed through with threats to prosecute Hillary Clinton over her use of a private email server as secretary of state.
It would be almost beyond comprehension to think that a new president would be involved in the prosecution of his opponent who ended up getting some 2 million more votes than he did, Sanders told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast.
It would completely divide this country. It would be an outrage, he said. I would hope very, very, very much that Mr. Trump understands that is not something he should do.
Trump regularly attacked Clinton on the campaign trail for the FBI probe into her email use, vowing during the second presidential debate that he would instruct his attorney general to investigate her over it. The FBI concluded there was no intentional wrongdoing and recommended no criminal charges, but that didnt stop Trumps criticisms.
Rudy Giuliani, whose name has been floated for a potential attorney general or secretary of state under Trump, suggested as recently as this week that the president-elect still might take legal action against Clinton....

Outrage me please. I’ve already insulted a soon to be former (p)resident. Now I’d love to be outraged.
STFU COMMIE!
Good thing Trump never would. It would be the FBI or the Congress.
Trump didn’t make Hillary break the law.
Justice needs to run its course- for everyone - that’s much of what this election was about.
Yes, I hope that Trump, and the Congress, too, will just take the shackles off the FBI and allow them to do an honest investigation. Americans can accept that.
They’ve got the bucks to defend themselves. Regardless, Hillary will not spend 1 day in the Iron Bar Hotel. House arrest in Arkansas perhaps. With Bill. Danny Williams and family next door. His mama on the other side.
Oh, Bernie, the Justice Department will do an even-handed job and will not be paying any attention to politics or election-year promises. And she will probably be indicted. Deal with it.
So then Bernie is calling for a special prosecutor?
So the fact that she gets to skate for everything she’s done *isn’t* an outrage?
A) you Democrats have already divided the country
And
B) the only “outrage” is that you ran an obscenely corrupt candidate on the Democrat ticket.
I doubt Trump will prosecute Hillary criminally.
All that needs to happen is the civil courts invalidate all these agreements made, such as the Uranium deal. Any taxpayer should be able to sue.
All the donor’s that got burned will exact justice all by themselves.
Bern,
The only “outrage” is that she hasn’t yet been prosecuted.
It’s up to the FBI and the Justice Dept. That’s how it works in constitutional administrations.
Trump isn’t a prosecutor Bernie.
Commie’s go to the back of the bus please.
Odumbo will pardon her...guaranteed.
“Trump isnt a prosecutor Bernie.”
This ^^^^^ dumb ass Bernie. He will leave it up to the FBI to investigate and then the DOJ will prosecute.
I don’t think he will prosecute Hillary for the emails. The Clinton Foundation, now that’s another story.
Bernie, if she’s not guilty, then there’s nothing to worry about.
