I was 5’ 11” and 189 when I boxed, not a big meathouse, but fast.
Now I am 5’ 8” and 173, my only question is, “WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN 46 YEARS”?
Sigh....
When I was in my late teens and early twenties (USMC) I had a 32 inch waist, now that I am in my (ahem) upper sixties, I have a 32 inch waist.
But as my wife is so fond of telling me “you ain’t got no ass”; oh well, at least I ain’t got no fat ass.
Oh just stop being GRUMPY for a little while.
After 8 years of misery and facing a hitlery candidacy now, sometimes we just want to have a little fun.

It’s awesome you boxed. Brutal sport. We are two of few who can say they’ve climbed into a ring with another man whose sole goal was to beat the hell out of us :) Like Tyson said “everyone’s got a plan until they get hit” AINT that the truth!!??
Had a friend who fought Holeyfield. TOUGH irish kid. 3 rounds and out. He looked like he got hit by a bus and said the punches felt like he was using a bat!!

I fought (boxed) for 2 1/2 years when I was in the Corps; the one I really remember was in 72.
I went into the ring at 5’ 11” and 183; my opponent was a Mexican kid, came in at 5’ 9” and 179.
(you wonder why I remember this one so well)?
In 7 rounds he literally beat the crap out of me, I would have kept going, but thank GOD the ref called it.
I thought I was pretty fast until I met him, he must have had some kind of time warp going, I never even saw at least 30% of what he landed.
Good times but I am glad I never tried doing it for a living, now I am just a dumb old farmer and I only have to fight the weather and wrestle the cattle.

And I can relate. Never boxed one in a match but sparred with a few who were THIRTY pounds lighter and they could have KILLED me if they wanted, but they went maybe 60 percent cause it was sparring.

Nothing dumb about farming and hope it’s going well.
I started to get headaches and fractured cheekbone was still hurting even after it healed so I quit.
Helped me out in the bars through because all punks around here wanted to do when they went out was fight. Dirty too most of the time.

As far as bouts, biggest massacre was against a 6 foot tall, maybe 180 black guy. First punch on the nose and i didnt know where the #### i was :) Downhill from there!!

i think it might be epilepsy. note this Arkansas doctor, Dr. Willis Courtney, who has a strong similarity to the black gentleman you always see near Hillary. he is a specialist in headaches and seizures. One thing we must be aware of: Trump is leading, or tied, with the witch among “likely” voters. The “likely” voters are people who have voted in the last 2 or 3 Elections. The good news for our team is those polls of “likely” voters, do not include the tens of thousands of new voters who have registered to vote for Trump who have NOT voted in the last 2 or 3 Elections. So, include them and you’ll see why many Democrats/Liberals will be on suicide watch on Election night.
Never OK...you have things to do and contribute...if you don’t think so LOOK again. From 62 to 78 I spent June to September with a grandson. Swimming, mini golf, batting cages and Practice, bowling, Veterans service,tennis, basketball, community service,golf and finally learning to drive...It all paid off in one comment as he achieved his Boy Scout Eagle Rank.
During the Court of Honor they asked “who do you personally most admire for their character?”. Simple he replied, My NANA. I just enjoyed him and never realized the effect I had.
Today I mailed a food package to college...it never ends!
