After latest email revelations and endless dishonesty, time for Hillary to head for the hills
The New York Daily News ^ | May 28, 2016 | Linda Stasi

If the Democrats want to save themselves the indignity of a total slaughter, Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race. After last week, a Hillary-led ticket has as much chance of winning the White House as Trump has of losing the white vote. Sanders can beat Trump. And Hillary can’t — not anymore.

Too many scandals, too many years of Clinton fatigue, and now, after the latest email revelations, just too many lies chasing her like Van Helsing on Dracula....

Yup. I’d wait until she’s the nominee to go after her.

Yup. Beating Santa Claus Sanders will be more difficult than beating The Hildabeast.

Half the country wants handouts. Sanders is promising more handouts. Trump is offering fewer handouts. This Bernie has an edge.

I understand your perception of the state of the country today, but I see it a little differently. I perceive that many more people want the true American Dream, and would prefer liberty, freedom, and opportunity, to a handout.

That is what Trump represents, and it’s why he’s going to win in November.

God I hope you are right. This election is the turning point for our Republic. If Trump loses, America is finished. For one thing, Trump is the only one who will stop the illegal terrorist invasion.

“This election is the turning point for our Republic. If Trump loses, America is finished.”

If Trump were to lose, we’d still have at least one other way to save our country, but we haven’t had to resort to that option since about 1773.

If Trump lost, I can definitely see it going that way. He’s really just about the last hope we have of righting things peacefully. The oligarchs have got to understand. The American people mean to have their country back, one way or another. They’ve pushed us as far as we can go. We’ll go no further.

I don’t disagree; my question is: how do we go about the process of getting our country back other than marching on DC? With technology today, the Feds can shut down just about everything. Power plants, transportation, SS payments. Garnish wages, I think this is why there was a bill passed a couple of years ago that gives the Pres unbelievable powers in the circumstances I’m imagining. It’s scary just thinking about it.

Now I feel old. There has been one Germany for a greater portion of my life than there were two.

That's tantamount to saying you are younger than 52.

I'll have to shake my cane at you and tell you to get off of my yard.

Hopefully, there are many years before you need a cane.

I agree. Powerful people invested, sorry “donated” large amounts of $ to the Clinton Foundation. They demand a favorable return on these investments, and will not be happy to say the least if such returns are not forthcoming.

I agree with you. Too many people look at the goodies rather than what is good for the country. And that favors the Rats by a country mile.

I disagree with you that Trump is offering fewer handouts. I think it depends on the day and the direction of the wind as to whether Trump is offering more or less handouts.

“I don’t disagree; my question is: how do we go about the process of getting our country back other than marching on DC?”

Most people’s first answer is to use the civil mechanisms available to us. Of course, we’ve been exercising our voting franchise to try to effect some control over our government, but that’s not working because our representatives are dropped into a sea of villainy and corruption the moment they arrive in DC.

This explains the Trump phenomenon. We’ve all realized that it’s going to take a completely different kind of person to fight the beast, and that that person can only sit at the very head of government.

If that plan is thwarted by the powers that be, then we’ll have other options that can work, but are far less palatable to the current generation of Americans, who are accustomed to living in a gigantic ‘safe zone’.

The first, most effective reaction would be one of mass non-compliance. Starving the beast through tax revolts is a natural first reaction. So is mass civil disobedience and demonstrations. As we’ve seen in recent history, most governments are composed of cowardly paper tigers who collapse when confronted with such push back from the people. Violence isn’t even necessary to make the oligarchs capitulate.

And there are many more creative and non-violent means of effective resistance which can be employed to bring our corrupt and out of control servants to heel.

I think the overriding message we all should be taking from this election, is that there’s a sizeable percentage of the American people who have reached the breaking point with ‘business as usual’ in Washington, and that they’re not merely having a momentary tantrum that will cool in time. No, the mood is not going to cool anytime soon, unless the people see concrete evidence of structural changes in DC.

Nearly all of the pundit, consulting, political, academic, and monied classes, have misread the historic shift that’s playing out before their eyes. The country is, at this very moment, already moving back toward its founding model, and there isn’t a damn thing any of them can do to stop it. The consent of the governed has been withdrawn.
