I don’t disagree; my question is: how do we go about the process of getting our country back other than marching on DC? With technology today, the Feds can shut down just about everything. Power plants, transportation, SS payments. Garnish wages, I think this is why there was a bill passed a couple of years ago that gives the Pres unbelievable powers in the circumstances I’m imagining. It’s scary just thinking about it.

“I don’t disagree; my question is: how do we go about the process of getting our country back other than marching on DC?”

Most people’s first answer is to use the civil mechanisms available to us. Of course, we’ve been exercising our voting franchise to try to effect some control over our government, but that’s not working because our representatives are dropped into a sea of villainy and corruption the moment they arrive in DC.

This explains the Trump phenomenon. We’ve all realized that it’s going to take a completely different kind of person to fight the beast, and that that person can only sit at the very head of government.

If that plan is thwarted by the powers that be, then we’ll have other options that can work, but are far less palatable to the current generation of Americans, who are accustomed to living in a gigantic ‘safe zone’.

The first, most effective reaction would be one of mass non-compliance. Starving the beast through tax revolts is a natural first reaction. So is mass civil disobedience and demonstrations. As we’ve seen in recent history, most governments are composed of cowardly paper tigers who collapse when confronted with such push back from the people. Violence isn’t even necessary to make the oligarchs capitulate.

And there are many more creative and non-violent means of effective resistance which can be employed to bring our corrupt and out of control servants to heel.

I think the overriding message we all should be taking from this election, is that there’s a sizeable percentage of the American people who have reached the breaking point with ‘business as usual’ in Washington, and that they’re not merely having a momentary tantrum that will cool in time. No, the mood is not going to cool anytime soon, unless the people see concrete evidence of structural changes in DC.

Nearly all of the pundit, consulting, political, academic, and monied classes, have misread the historic shift that’s playing out before their eyes. The country is, at this very moment, already moving back toward its founding model, and there isn’t a damn thing any of them can do to stop it. The consent of the governed has been withdrawn.
